Exactly, so why did he surrender our chances two years running? This season was a great opportunity for the underdog...
A Ginger moment at Newcastle - right after half-time Jack Colback ties it up 1-1 against Spurs. please log in to view this image Now Spurs 2-1 up after a free kick crossed into the box makes it all the way into the net with numerous Spurs players in offside positions, but none of them touched the ball. please log in to view this image Newcastle are not level for long. Having been fouled himself, Christian Eriksen dusts himself off and then curls over a free-kick into the box that is clearly designed to be a cross but beasts everyone, including Tim Krul, and finds the far corner. That could be a decisive blow, stamping out the home momentum. It is Eriksen's first goal since the end of January. http://www.bbc.com/sport/live/football/32103158
FT - Newcastle 1 Spurs 3 - Harry Kane joins the party with a late goal. "Newcastle put everybody forward in search of the equaliser and left themselves totally exposed at the back. As soon as you saw him bearing down on goal you knew Harry Kane was never going to miss that." "That sums Newcastle's day up. A free-kick 35 yards from goal is played to the edge of the box for Ayoze Perez but he mis-controls and the ball skips away for a goal-kick. There were empty seats at kick-off. There are even more now. Some of the home fans have seen enough." "Newcastle are looking to avoid a sixth straight defeat. They are still not out of the relegation woods just yet. Have they got enough in the locker to change the outcome of this game from what looks like being another loss? Daryl Janmaat unleashes a shot from range but slices it way, way wide." "Newcastle are showing exactly what is wrong with the modern Premier League side. Bang average foreign players on jumped up wages! Bring through the local youth and give them a chance to show some guts and pride." http://www.bbc.com/sport/live/football/32103158
It does seem more likely than many on here were giving thought too. However, over the last few games, how much better could this team have actually played?
I think he has a positive influence in the short term but would have been a disaster of Redknapp proportions longer term, particularly with the stronger characters we have in our squad. Delighted we didn't get him.
He might be the next Ferguson or Mourinho for all I know, I just don't like his face and the way he comes across on the telly.
I have just watched the highlights of the semi final. Villa looked a good side, playing a pressing game with good football. Sherwood has got them all playing well, particularly Benteke and Cleverly.
I would rather been relegated than have Sherwood at our club .. he will go down as the biggest media whore around soon … hate the pratt Anyone going to Villa would of got the same response because they were lost but have always had very good players and youth … Villa are on a roll this week good luck to them but watch them fall apart if things go wrong … I have watched the 3-3 game coming back to the UK and have to say that Villa looked like the worst team we have played this season … I don't see much improvement but i do see a massive improvement in desire … anyone could of done that Sherwood will be found out and he will be sacked … he has a face that needs punching
Hasn't he got them to Wembley and to a position in the League where they are certainly not favourites to go down? He seems to be doing pretty well and if I were a Villa fan I wouldn't give a shyte if his media image pysses pepole off.
Easy to say after the invent. I don't think he would have. Villa have always had a good fast attack but lacked something under Lambert. Our defence is kack and not even TS could make it better.
I don't rate him at all think he got lucky at Spurs getting a job and I agree his record seems good but there is something not right about him … maybe just a very small cog but it's gone. I am pleased he didn't chose us if he was ever in the picture. I think Villa are fragile still lads that's all and should get passed to death by the Arsenal if they turn up. I could easily see a 4-0 win for the gunners but Villa did play well yesterday. Always said that confidence is the biggest influence and they do have have very good players
