Cracking looking bumper at Wincanton tomorrow...2 horses line up! One of the worst Sundays racing you will see all year.

I think the 4.20 at the Curragh is a 3 horse race.

Of the three horses i think are capable of winning a race like this, the O'Brien horse, Geoffrey Chaucer, will almost certainly come on a load for the outing so can be dismissed for a bet. The Bolger horse, Parish Hall, is race fit but has had plenty of chances and doesn't seem to want to win races any more. I'm putting a line through it. The final horse, The Weld runner, Massinga, has had 4 runs. Won three times. Is race fit. Is on the upgrade. Weld is flying and so is Smullen. 7/4 is fair and i've backed it.

I see O'Meara has That Is The Spirit over tomorrow at the Curragh for the Gladness. Has been supported from 16's into 10's on the betfair sportsbook. Wasn't going to back anything but I did take some 10's each way for this one just now.

Not my usual cup of tea but in the 2.00 Stratford Guard Of Honour 10/1 Has some decent efforts in novice hurdles and often front-runs, which is a key reason he stood out at Stratford today. Stratford is a track where you don't want to be miles off the pace and they swing in pretty sharpish on the home turn before a flat out battle to the line and I think it lends itself fairly well to prominent racers. Brassil takes off a really handy 10lb and puts this horse in with a right chance if bidding to make all and given an aggressive ride.

Look through his form and there are a number of decent efforts from animals rated in and around the 120 mark and therefore that 10lb claim for me might just about put him well in.

Ger Lyons: "Any way back to the Curragh and we have Fishermans Blues 5/1 2.20 Curragh in the first race. He is a lovely colt by Zebedee that is ready to run but will benefit for the experience. He has shown us plenty at home but is still a bit of a play boy so I expect him to need the day out but we won with similar on Friday at Dundalk."

They will all benefit from the experience so I'm happy with the 'lovely colt' description and quite like that ones chances of turning over the first ZOFFANY (the horse that frightened Frankel and Sir Henry when Tom Queally went for home about 7f out in the St James Palace) runner from AOB and Coolmore.

3.50 Curragh-Due Dilligence 4/1 win.I'm normally not mad about backing the speckled one's runners so early in the season but this lad ran very well at ascot in a hot contest and a return of that form should see him go in.the yards early season form is my only concern.
Aston Villa v Liverpool:im going have a small punt on villa to beat the pool at a tasty 11/2.Granted villa are missing a few players their tales are up after beating spurs away last week and Benteke is on a good run of form.Lpool's form has been patchy of late and are always vunerable at the bavk especially their keeper.

    Cheers folks <ok>

Geoffrey Chaucer returns today doesn't he? What a bizarre old season he had last summer. An unlucky reappearrance and then stuffed in the English and German Derbys. You would hope that it was qa problem that has now been sorted out. His 2 Y O form still looks very good, and the unlucky 3rd in the Derby trial doesn't look bad either.

I suspect he will come on for the run today but it will be interesting to see if he ever does get himself back into Group 1 contention. Who else will be the AOB 4 Y O to go to Royal Ascot for Prince Of Wales this year? I can't think of many standouts.
