Interesting article in The Times this morning on what his early coaches felt about Raheem, obviously on the back of his latest escapades. Lot of comment from Steve Gallen, who had him playing for the under 16s when he was 13, the under 18s when he was 14, and was trying to get him in the first team when he was 15. He turned down a move to Spurs to stay with us before Liverpool turned up. All universally say that he wasn't motivated by money at least at that stage, and they don't think he is now. And his mum really wanted him to stay in London. I hadn't realised that, at least at a young age, he was in special needs education - hopefully it worked and he caught up, but also hopefully he has somebody with his best interests at heart keeping an eye on him.
The good news is we get 20% of any sell on fee, 22% if its abroad.
