Kane, Hazard, De Gea, Coutinho on both shortlists

I think overall this seems a very good set of players for both awards, ok a couple are a bit old for young player IMO

We should be glad coutinho is getting on the list after our bad start.

It'll be interesting to see who wins. I think Hazard might well take it.

I think De Gea should win POTY, or Hazard.

Kane will most likely win young player.

Well de gea was consistently excellent all year but hazard has been Chelsea's main man all the time and they are top

De gea has Utd in cl

    I'd still go hazard

I agree though Kane has had his breakout year and been Spurs main man so I think he fits young player best and would deserve it

Hazard will probably get it with Chelsea being Champions.

Kane will get the young player

Hazard has been very good but he has a great supporting cast.

De Gea has almost pretty much kept United in the top 4 and has certainly won them points. His impact on the team is greater than Hazard's which is why I think he should get it.

  6. If all three are on both lists, why different winners?

You're right - Either De Gea or Hazard should win both, but Kane is the media darling and practically guaranteed to win the Young Player award.

Shouldnt be allowed to be entered in both but if you are and you win te main prize you have to win the young player as well logically.
However can see hazard winning main and Kane winning young.

I reckon this will be the outcome, unless there is a big deal made about a keeper not winning it since 77. De Gea has been very good all season bar two recent mistakes.

Hazard has been exceptional all season and has to be one of if not the most consistent attacking player of the last few years. I think he is more than slightly more deserving that De Gea tbh. Keeprs don't win it for a reason, because much of their clean sheets is down to the team as much as them. While he has made great saves, it might be only 2 or 3 of them a month. Hazard is a constant threat all game in every game, and that imo puts him ahead of anyone else for the award.

Kane 100% for the ypoty He has 19 goals so far, same as Costa and Aguero. Totally deserves it too.

Yeah de gea has been that good for sure

I think strongly young player is not for anyone but a Kane

It is his breakout year he's done well it should be recognised

Young player to hazard is an insult to him

Is De Gea on the ypoty too? They really need to split up those lists it's getting stupid.

Shows how poor the league has been for not having anyone over 23 who's stood out consistently over the season.

    Hazard POTY
    Kane YPOTY

Hazard didn't do enough early in the season and is still short of goals for an attacking player, De Gea easy for POTY and should also get young player as once again Kane is only good for part of the season and not throughout.
No fault of Kanes though as he simpy wan't picked early in the season.

Nice to see some recognition for De Gea.

He wont win thought but he doesn't have too. Hes been the standout player all season.

Hazard for poty. Kane for ypoty.

His goals are usually penalties tbh. Always inflated. And he was completely overshadowed by Fabregas and Costa early season as you say.

People usually remember the stand out players in the weeks leading up to the vote.

This is true it's player of half the season most of the time.

Nah I disagree. You're finding fault - in a winger - in goals scored? How is that fair?

Sometimes it really is as simple as saying, have you watched him play this season??? Game after game - techically brilliant, has a football brain/vision, physically strong, ability to run at defenders, turns on a six-pence, can weave his way out when surrounded by 2/3 players, creates chances for others.

A better way of explaining is that a lot of his goals and assists have come later in the season, not saying he's a bad player just that he should be better consistently. De Gea has been consistent throughout and is probably the reason you are in the position you find yourself in at this point..

He didnt start well so its certainly not game after game. He was subbed off quite a few times early season too. Could have been a world cup hang over.

Sanchez was a far better player at the time. While hes fallen away Hazard has stepped up when his team mates have turned to ****e. Credit for that but its wrong to suggest hes been great all season.

Not even De Gea, who has been the most consistent performer this season had a shaky start. Its not been a season of great performances tbh.

I can't remember what he was like at the start of the season but he's been consistently good since around December and he's become more instrumental as Chelsea's season has gone on. Surely that's more than enough time to consider him player of the season?
