The costs of filing a planning application aren't big, I don't think it's a significant issue for anyone. They could file it in the name of the Council, then pass the permission to the SMC, again I doubt it's a significant issue.
In the great scheme of things, I don't see the cost being an issue. Most of it is hidden costs anyway, for things like staff time. Planning Law's odd. You can apply for planning permission on any bit of land, you don't have to own, or even have any other interest in it, so I'm guessing that the SMC could use the planning approval, subject to complying with any conditions on it. In some respects, it's like buying land that has planning permission, but no building work has started.
Would the various clubs chucked out of the Airco have a case against the SMC for illegal eviction themselves?
Fair enough - just ****ing about really. I thought the 'their' in your question either referred to the smc's planning permission (granted by the council (I assume)), or the council's so it stands to reason that the council will agree to ... I guess people are saying that the cost of the council putting in a planning application for the bubble pitch is basically negligible in the grand scheme of things. Also, and I too have no idea of how this stuff works, but if it is basically just a case of providing planning for a temporary bubble pitch well the council can do that relatively cheaply, but if the Allams want more they had better spend the money to adapt the application.... All speculation on my part obviously...
I'd guess that strictly speaking they haven't been evicted, they've just been refused use of the arena.
Well. My respect for HCC just went up 2 notches. Admittedly it was only at 0, so its climbed to 2 but finally, they're doing what any other council in the country would have done ages back. I still don't know why the likes the Geraghty and Brady get voted back in every time. The CEO sounds like a sensible fella at least. This could now get interesting.
The bigger groups have a common law tenancy and would be able to challenge the evictions. It came down to whether the sports groups could afford to fund any legal action. The route they've gone down was sensible, trying to get the Premier League to agree a compromise solution, which happened and then didn't. Given the Council's attitude I doubt whether any of them would start any legal action now.
Cheers. I didn't know that, I'd assumed the arrangement was on a similar, but extended arrangement to using other council run leisure facilities, such as hiring Ennerdale for five a side. It makes the actions even worse.
Why on earth would Hull City Council spend ratepayers money to help out what is a privately owned company? How on earth do you consider that Allam has won this round? I consider that ,once again, he has shown his true colours.
All those wailing about the Airco users seem to be conveniently forgetting all the hockey players who will be ****ed if the bubble pitch goes on their all weather pitches. Had a talk with someone who disagrees with me. He sees the Allams in a corner, I see the Council. The Allams got ****ed over by the planners and the council for the Rosedowns site. I cant blame them for asking for conditions. They've done this to make the council do something and they are doing with the planning proposal, surely that must be seen as a green light. But they wont trust those slimy ****ers until its guaranteed and building and can start on it. Meanwhile they hold them to ransom with the Airco. Ony way to play this bent set of ****s.
Matt Dean @mattdeanradio 32m32 minutes ago #hcafc are given 14 days to remove 3G pitch at Airco Arena or face legal action. Stephen Brady tells @andycomfort cat 2 status won't be 1/2 Matt Dean @mattdeanradio 32m32 minutes ago 2/2 ..granted by the Premier League whilst the dispute is ongoing. #hcafc
Airco for All Kingston Panthers have informed us today the SMC have sold basketball equipment including portable rings, scoreboard, timer, backboards and rings. A member of theirs has also told us with his knowledge of flooring that the removal of the 3G pitch will leave irreparable damage to the floor meaning a new surface will likely be needed to return the Airco Arena to its previous state.
It just gets worse. It's disgraceful behaviour. Did the SMC provide a bond, like you do when you rent property? They should be made to pay to pu it right.
