In 45 days, myself and 35 others will be attempting to break the Guinness World Record for the World's Longest Continuous Football Game by playing for 100 hours straight at St. Mary's Stadium. We're not just doing this for fun, we're fundraising for an amazing local charity, the Testlands Support Project. I've decided to start a blog detailing my experience training and preparing for such an event and I'd love it if you could take the time to read/share it. kimish.co.uk/blog/47days If you'd like to donate to the charity record attempt then you can do so on my donation site:
Good Luck Sam. I am jealous. I can't play anymore because of these knees, however if I had a chance to play in something like this (and maybe you can take heed here having read your concerns about getting fit when working late), I would of course just occupy my usual spot in the centre circle I would be prepared to move outside said centre circle for kick-offs.
Thanks FLT, I appreciate the support! I'm just proud to be involved in such an amazing event for such an amazing charity!
Sam, I clicked a Donate link on the Testlands page, but link is broken. I'd like to make a small donation; how do I do that?
Yeah, the people that run the site are aware of the issue and are fixing it at the moment but thanks for mentioning!
Hahaha yes Tom, we will need refs. The club have assured us that they will source referees and linesmen for the full duration of the record attempt but if you wish to get involved then I can certainly pass your details on?
Better check that the club don't mind his guide dog pooing on the pitch at St Mary's first though, eh?
31st May 5pm - 4th June 9pm! I'll definitely post another thread on here closer to the date and hopefully drum up a little more support!
