It's Sunday morning and all we have is what we know, the rest leaves us to speculate, grab anything we can to make a story out of and I for one donât see anyone telling lies all I see is fellow fans sharing what they hear so we can decide, whatâs wrong with that. Now Iâm about to do the same but I cant even say its based on what I know or hear, its pure assumption, guess work and putting 2+2 to see how near 4 I can get. Coming in I see 2 plus Gibbson at most and the Gibbson deal is 50/50 and I donât think anyone is bothered either way, donât think his fee will affect the other two signings. Defence is done so all those wanting a new RB or LB I fear will be dissopointed and with the selection we have I am relaxed about that. I donât see NâZogbia coming just because of his wage demands and again because of the options we have I am relaxed about that. The big signing will come up front and I can see 2 there, one being Welbeck but Bruce knows it could be window end before he can be sure about getting him. That, IMO, means he will spend on a named striker but I just donât see Gyan being part of any deal, Iâm sure he used Gyan in selling the club to the new signings so to sell him would bring problems. If we get a Defoe type player and we miss out on Welbeck we have a strike force but if we get Welbeck we have a plan a,b and c. Whatever happens we cant say Bruce and Quinn have not tried so we can only hope it all fits and hits the ground running.
I hope Gyan IS a stayer, if he were to go, so would some of our credability, we have to build on the likes of him, Bruce has brought a great deal of experience, and a possible great, in young Wickham, and maybe some will come from the academy, not a bleak season ahead, but a tester all the same, but if your prediction [ which we all hope for ] happens , and we do make a big name signing, that would change my glass to half full. and looking forward to it. just wondering who will be on show in Beilefeld next Sunday.
Completely agree Syd! Just read this morning that SAF is determined to take Welbeck on the pre-season tour of the US where he can run the rule over him personally. Don't know how much truth there is it, but it is definitely encouraging. If Berbatov doesn't leave (and I still don't know why he has dropped out of favor) then Welbeck will be 4th choice striker at best. How much development SAF can expect with that kind of limited exposure to first team football is debatable, but I can't see him keeping Welbeck around if it's not to his benefit.
You mentioned N'Zogbias wage demands. Now I'm genuinely not trying to be funny here but where are the quotes from the lad saying he wants £60-£65 grand a week? All I've seen is rumour and speculation from the red top rags. I stand by what I said before, I think its Whelan playing funny buggers about the fee thats holding that deal up. I think there will be movement on this in the next week.
Fair play. But it becoming established fact that thats what he's after but there is not a shred of evidence to confirm this, thats basicaly my point.
There has be something in the Defoe and N'Zogbia stories lads. The fact that 2 national tabloids ran stories yesterday about them coming and the fact that the club took it upon themselves to actually name the 2 players and deny any contact (when they havent done so with any of the other 15 or 20 other players we have been linked with) tells me that there are some cloak and dagger dealings afoot. The fact we ARE after N'Zogbia is the worst kept secret since John Inman came out and declared he was gay? We ARE after an experienced striker to replace Judas, which is why the Defoe story fits us perfectly, as I dont think Welbeck fits the criteria just yet, although I too would like to see him at the club again next season. 2 things to gleam from the last 2 days. Firstly, why did the club feel it necessary to name Defoe and N'Zogbia in particular and secondly, we must all be sitting glued to TVs and websites looking for glimmers of that elusive 'marquee' striker to sign. Been a great summer so far and I still think the 'biggest' news is still to come.
Well if that's what we're doing, my guessing is we will lose Gyan and do well out of the deal. Like i say, it's only my assumption.
An I would rule nothing in or out, the club have certainly knocked any assumptions we had out of the water so far. **** me Cest, is that true about Inman?
I see in the gossip columns today Gooners Nick Bendtner (sp) is left out of their tour to talk to a premier club. Might be us? x
As this is assumptions then here goes. I think we may get Joel Campbell who is playing for Cost Ricca, he was exceptional the other night, only 1 game i know, but man of the match by a country mile. Gibson wont come. Aquillani may come on loan (this is a big assumption) A total WOW didnt see that one coming signing, but we will have to wait till after the Coppa America and after a few clubs have done some business, who it will be i have no idea, but then thats why its a WOW signing lol
Never has the transfer gossip, speculation and rumour concerned players of such quality, also imo there has never been more chance of them being true, if you consider the transfers completed to date and the money assumed to be still available to spend. Exiting(sic) times indeed
Do you know, looking at this picture, I might be wrong about him........... mmmmmm? If he isnt gay, then gbsafc4eva is a canny lad who is just a misunderstood teenager, full of high jinx and good humour? Then again, if JI is actually gay, then gbsafc4eva is just a cowardly, snivelling, **** munching, cock sucker! Hey, there may be a link between these two after all?
my worry with Gibson is if he signs Vaughan will get pushed out to left mid and that would be a disaster IMO, would rather have Vaughan in the middle and bring in a proper winger. add Welbeck to that along with the departures of Gordon, Angeleri, Nosworthy, Kilgallon and McCartney and I think we will be sorted until January at the earliest
I have read somewhere this morning that we are in the driving seat for DJ Campbell. Might have been the People
