I love my City (Durham) and I have had a job since I left school at 16 and paid tax every year since then - and it has also been warmer over Easter than the south! <laugh>

As for the Vergini thing - it's pre agreed if we stay up - he has played the required number of games to activate the clause in his contract to activate the mandatory purchase - similar deal to Alvarez but Alvarez hasn;t played the required number of games so, if we stay up, we have to offer him a contract which will be pre-agreed also. Saying "if we sign him....." means nothing as we have no choice but to offer him a contract
Sorry but I thought you ran a business? Or are you the only person that works there?

As we have made losses the last 2 seasons we cannot offer stupid money to players - Boro and Newcastle did not have FFP rules to adhere to - QPR do and they're in a whole load of **** if they go down - or do you not care about that as all you want is your own gratification regardless of cost to the club?

I thought Vergini was free agent in the summer and we've intentionally avoided any purchase as he is duel owned <confused>

For a player earning the amount they do, what has 'no jobs' got to do with anything? It ain't a tip, either....

Sorry yeah that is right bri - I heard it on the radio the other day and made an assumption but have done some reading up on it this morning and it's actually a pre-contract agreement we've got with him in that if he plays so many games this season we are obliged to offer him a contract in the summer - I wouldn't mind him signing TBH. Full pre-season with us and he wouldn't be a bad player IMO - he said he's signing next year if we're in the premier league

The only way he will get better in pre season, is if we give him brain surgery.

Aye because he's been rubbish every time he's played hasn't he? - I wonder if some people ever remember anything past the previous game at times!

Well fact is we can't replace three of our four center backs with fees. Wes and Coates must be replaced with quality, not spread across three players of less quality. Vergini should make a decent squad player

How many times do you need him to be bad then?

I remember him playing well - players don;t get songs sung about them if they're ****e (well - not by their own fans anyhow). He's had a bad run but he is a decent enough player to have as a Squad filler - capable at right back and, on his day, at Centre back too. Or do you simply suggest replacing our central defence with a complete overhaul and, if so, who out there is better and available at a zero price?

He's far too weak and slow.. I would prefer an overhaul to what we currently have.

Oshea is bad, but playing alongside Vergini makes him worse.

Yeah he's had a few good games, but any player can do that, including players like bridcutt.

You can't keep players based on they can have a few good games, unless you want to get relegated, and we are in severe danger of that, because of players like Vergini who 'have a few good games'

More often than not Vergini makes bad mistakes, and is far too weak and slow. In order to improve we need to get rid of these players, because they constantly let you down in vital moments and vital games.

Daryl murphy played well sometimes, so did James Maclean and crap players like that. But for the 1 in 8 good games they have, they will cost you in the other 7, and you can't afford to do that in the premier league.

We are in danger of relegation because of players like Vergini, oshea, Gomez, wickham, Johnson, bridcutt, Buckley ect... Those players all have 'some good games' But will continuously not be good enough in the rest of the games.

Hence our position in the premier league.
