Season 1 is not enough to get to grips with it Pud. Its the most popular TV series in THE WORLD for a good reason (and not just the shagging).

Forget the fantasy, it's not a major part of the show, it's about the politicking and intrigue, Machiavellian scheming and backstabbing.
