I still think if we win 2 more and a draw that should do it (3 wins would be better). Hull have a really tough run in and would need to win 2 games (which i think is hard for them). Sunderland do look lost and i can see them going to pot. Sadly Villa have done it again and will manage to escape. Shame because its about time they went down. They have been hanging on a for a few seasons now and hopefully next year TS will take them down with his Gilet. A win against the scum would really give us a good chance but i would take a point.
My goodness what a wonderful result a win tomorrow would be. It seems fanciful to be entertaining the thought, really. It's not only an attractive fantasy from the perspective of the Rs' survival, but would do Arsenal a favour too, particularly as they face Chelsea at the Emirates soon. How lovely it would be if this great run the Gunners are on culminated in them pipping Terry's All Mold to the title.
From our perspective another result like this on the final day would be the perfect ending to our season - I believe we could be in a position where we need to win this game we stay up. 25 Oct 1966 Queens Park Rangers v Leicester City 4-2 League Cup I remember listening to this match on the radio that evening at the kitchen table with my Dad. The next morning we both rushed downstairs at the click of the letter box to be first to read the match report.
Not that it makes a difference as we won't get anything either way but it's at home to Chelsea, we lost 2-0 away early in the season
I can't see 7 points being enough, Ellers. We would finish below both Leicester and Burnley with only 7 more points. Seven would probably only get us above Sunderland and Hull.
Don't want to be a spoil sport but I see tomorrows game as keep chelsea's scoring down to 1 or 2 goals and imp this will not be such a bad result as we really are not targeting this as a win game, anything from tomorrow will be like a gift from heaven.
There will be 10 possible points against Newcastle, Leicester, WH and tomorrow. Our recent form has been promising and Chelsea has not shown any good performances on our turf in recent years - 1-1 draw tomorrow for me.
Agree with Hoops & Totally - 7 points won't be enough - I think we need a minimum of three wins. The other chink of light (along with Hull & Sunderland) is WBA's run in - Palace A, Liverpool H, Man Utd A, Newcastle A, Chelsea H, Arsenal A. Rose tinted specs I know but a possibility of only one point there (Newcastle A)? I think we can beat West Ham & Newcastle at home - as I said earlier I think it will go down to the last day at Leicester... It could all change with a win tomorrow!
Just watching motd nice idea by WBA to wear a replica of their 1968 fa cup final kit. ...they look a poor side and can still be caught. ..
Agree, anything from this is a bonus though with time running out we have to target every game & hope to get something.
Monday night game - Liverpool 2 Newcastle 0 Newcastle look like a team lost at sea with no strikers - I didn't realize that Cissé was on a 7 match ban for that spitting incident. We definitely must be securing 3 pts against them.
I see Matt Connolly scored for Watford last night. If they are promoted, he will have been at 4 different clubs promoted to the Premier League - Us, Reading, Cardiff and Watford.
Rotherham also blew a 1-0 lead at Fulham last night and tied that game 1-1. Fulham look safe now, Brentford are dropping away from the playoff spots, so potentially if things don't work out for us there could be three West London teams playing in the Championship next season. Rotherham also have the threat of losing the 3 pts they gained in their win at Brighton for fielding an ineligible player, so Millwall, 4 pts behind but a game in hand, could potentially escape relegation. Wigan seem doomed.
