I can't help butting in here, sorry. I actually like Brisbane. It's a good place for a holiday and sending our unemployed. I wouldn't want to live there, mind. It is too full of whinging Aussies. The only people who seem to do any work there are not from Australia, too.

I assume that you lived in Christchurch, Chesh. You don't sound like a Jafa.

I guess you would know about Brisbane, Horny, its the place you come to collect your dole cheque, no wonder you like it. Living here, no, you wouldn't like that, too much sun and fresh air. Bye the bye, whats a Jafa? Is that like a northern Pakia? We used jafas to roll down the isle at the cinema.

Think you got it right, Chesh. Brisbane is OK but thats about all you can say. Its a funny city, doesn't have a lot going for it but like all cities in Oz they think they are the bees knees. When friends from the UK say they want to come for a visit, we always tell them not to come to Bris for more than a week, there's nothing to do after the first few days. Visit the Gold Coast and the Sunny Coast and thats about it!

By the way, they aren't traffic wardens, they're Meter Maids, paid to put money into parking meters when you're running out.

Oh, Horny, just read in the Sunday Mail ( true story) that all the Kiwis are leaving Brisbane, or Queensland to be more precise, and going back across the ditch. It seems that they are unhappy that they don't get the same rights as Australians! Surprise, surprise. Maybe if they were Australians they would, eh? I can only suggest that they club their dole cheques together, buy a leaky boat and come back. Illegal immigrants get accommodation, three meals a day (thats 1,2,3) free medical care, about $200 a week and all the legal support you need to con the government into believing you will get shagged by a sheep if you return to your own country. 'course, if you're unlucky you could end up in Nareu, Cambodia, Bouganville or, if you are REALLY unlucky, New Zealand.
