I must admit that if a ream spends as much time in opposing penalty areas as Bournemouth do then they will get more penalties than other clubs. My reason for not wanting them to go up is that the Tory voting grannies of that part of the World don't need premiership football - it seems a travesty that they could be in the Premiership with a rich Russian owner whereas their bigger neighbours Pompey - a real footballing town with some of the best supporters in the country languishes alongside the likes of Luton.
Do bad decisions even themselves out?

Sad but true football is all about money and the league are trying to tell clubs how they spend it We have owners that fund us so we should not complain for the moment
They haven't evened themselves out since we played Everton in the Prem back in August 2006. A double whammy of being denied a clear, nailed on, stonewall, penalty for handball at one end, only for Everton to break and be awarded a penalty at the other when the ball hit Chris Powell square between the eyes. Exactly the sort of abject decisions we've had to put up with ever since.
So no, they don't even themselves out after nearly a decade let alone over a season.

How could a ref not know the rules regarding that England women's penalty incident..
One thing to get a debatable decision wrong but to not actually give what is probably quite a simply decision in such a situation is madness!

Tut, tut, Cologne..a slightly sexist view of the world down here in the south west. Bournemouth/Poole is a surprisingly large conurbation with a decent sized population and Portsmouth is not without its grannies
Also 45 per cent voted Tory in the two Bournemouth constituencies in the 2010 election so I suppose some of the grannies might have voted for someone else

They were assisting the referee in not applying the law correctly that the referee had not applied correctly. If no one tried to tell the referee how wrong she was I'd send the lot home, not just the referee.
An international tournament? At any level? I'd not even expect that from a parent refereeing an under tens kickabout after school.
Flitton,not entirely sure about the sincerity of the 'welcome your views'bit, but it does show politeness ! My wording may have not been too clever, but I was trying to suggest that OTHERS were rather dismissive of Bournemouth....I like to think I do attempt to respect other clubs unless theres a reason not to-and they appear to be pretty 'pucker'.Will need a couple of weeks to work out my 'negativeness' in what I wrote, have been accused of it in the past ,but has to be said one person puts a label on somebody and others find it easiest to follow suit irrespective of whats actually being written. I think a lot of Bournemouths' problem is the perception of them as a small town team, something we should be all to familiar with, who shouldn't be where they are. They have hit upon a style of play that gets results for them, a similar situation to the one we found ourselves in in the late seventies - GT's team had a way of playing that not everyone liked, but it got Watford to almost the top of the league. I am jealous of Callum Wilson's abiliy to collapse as required to get his team penalties, but sooner or later he'll get rumbled, and wish referees in our games would be as accommodating.
Bournemouth isn't really a small town. The Bournemouth/Poole conurbation has a population of over 400,000. I might be misremembering this, but isn't Watford about 90,000?
Watford, Hertsmere and Three Rivers combined doesn't make for 300,000 and Bournemouth doesn't have half a dozen other premier league clubs between them and Southampton as we do between us and Plarse, a similar distance away. Just saying.
I'm sorry, but I'm getting a little tired of this obsession with Bournemouth. What they have achieved since being docked 17 (I think) points is remarkable and nearly up there with us, Wimbledon, Swansea and Wigan. I didn't expect them to be near the top at this stage of the season, and if I were a Bournemouth fan I would have the same level of disbelief that I had in the early 1980s. Having said that, I suspect that they have only got to the top of the division because the rules now require a referee to send off players that are deemed to have fouled if they are the last line of defence.
So they may have got away with a lot of dodgy decisions. Wouldn't we be pleased if we did as well? I can't believe that there is a conspiracy to get them promoted and for us to stay down.

The Pozzos have fired 2 managers since they've taken over (I don't count Dyche, if I'd just made a multi-million pound investment I'd also want to choose/employ the person in charge). As much as I loved Zola, I think the team was stagnating towards the end and missing out on promotion must have damaged morale pretty badly. Saninno I was never a fan of, I still supported him throughout but he too seemed out of his depth when he was fired. Those are the only 2 managers the club have fired.
The near-6 digit payouts they would have received must also take some sympathy away too...
