The Saints fans on here seem to think that Monk is going to them shortly, what do you think ?

For me I think that he will have a limited role next season at best should he stay, but that comment after the final about being sold could be that he has been told by Rodgers that he is not in the plans , and no sentiment for any player.

Doubt very much if Garry would want to leave us at this stage plus it has been intimated that he is due to join the backroom staff when he hangs up his boots.

Just stumbled across this myself and posted a thread lol

As a team bond it be bad to see him go, if we get a deal along the lines of one alluded to on my thread I think Huw could get a shrewd deal for him seeing as the fans that way wouldnt mind him back

Would be sad if it's true, I really rate Garry Monk, Premier League might be too much for him, but an excellent squad member. Mate of mine in work is a Southampton fan, have to see what he say's.

Never thought that Monk would start games in the PL but i also think it unwise to let him go as i think he would be excellant cover and he knows our system inside out.

We ain't a team of big stars and never will be but the team plays well as an unit which is far more important to us so that's one of the reasons i would prefer him to stay.

Which is what exactly? Employ a manager who is one of Fergies favourites?

Monk should stay, and deserves to stake his claim for a starting role this season. I'm not saying he'll play every game, but he's earned his chance with us and I'd be disappointed for him, and disappointed with the club, if he was cast aside now.

I think buck will be true to his word and give monk the chance he deserves, and if he does not make the grade buck will then look to change things, at least i hope he gives monk the chance he deserves because without monk blocking that shot at wembley we may still be planning for the south wales derby games,

buck its the least you can do for garry monky

And that would mean relegation, how do you expect 10 players to fit in with our philosophy of playing ?

Wes "I scores own goals me" Brown, John "never quite good enough" O'Shea, and some other random dudes? Asamoah Gyan is class, and Stephene Sessegnon (or however you spell it) are good, but way out of our league. I'd fancy our team against theirs in an even game right now, as long as this keeper is alright!
