We're at the business end of the season and a couple of wins would put the pressure on city. I don't much care about Pelle's confidence, or whether Tadic is better on the left. These are problems we can try to fix next season. Right now we need to be winning games and playing our most consistent and reliable players. I would personally like to see a front four of JWP, Davis, Mane and Long. You know what you will get from those guys.

Can't understand why many are laying all the blame for our lack of goals down to Pelle???

Everton game was reminiscent of many recent performances.....we're playing well and pretty much controlling games but again our creativity and final ball in the last third has been poor. 2nd half against Everton despite controlling the game we didn't create any worthwhile attempts on goal, surely that wasn't all down to Pelle.
Dropping Pelle isn't going to solve problem, early season we had players all over the pitch chipping in with goals, that's not happening now.

A top-class striker will create his own chances.

A top-class striker will create his own chances.

A striker who can create their own chances in the top leagues is top-class.

That is not to say that a striker who doesn't create their own chances isn't top-class however. Important distinction to note.

Yes we do know what we will get. Mediocrity.

I don't understand why "consistent and reliable" necessarily translates to more victories. I can promise you I would be very consistent and reliable and you will know exactly what you will get every time if you play me in the Premier League.

So we are agreed that as a team we're not creating enough chances??? But you're saying Pelle should be dropped because he's not good enough to create his own chances!!......can you point out what the alternative is?

I already did. Mane behind Long with Davis and JWP on the sides.

Sorry, but you think these four players are mediocre?!?!?!

Mane has been our best attacking threat since December, Davis is having a stonking season, JWP has the most number of assists, and Long is a constant nuisance to any defence.

I'm not saying that Pelle, Elia, Tadic, Djuricic etc aren't any good. I'm saying that too often they don't deliver a performance (a tad harsh on Djuricic I know), and that we can't afford to carry anybody during these last few weeks.

If you could guarantee me that Tadic and Pelle would player like their early-season selves, then of course they'd be in the team.

Pelle was doing it earlier in the season. The goal away to Stoke in the league cup springs to mind. 25 yards out, one look up, and smashes it in. That's what I'm talking about. He is more than capable of doing it, when he has the confidence. I'm just saying that he does't have that confidence right now, and it is making the team suffer.

(I know, I know, how will he get his confidence back if we just drop him to the bench?)

Long is bound to score.

If you have any out of form strikers our goalie will almost certainly provide them with a boost too.

You bastards have looked the best team we've played in recent years and I never feel like we were robbed, just that you were so much better.

I'm hoping for the players who scared the crap outa Chelsea rather than the couldn't be arseds that played Swansea.
