Yes he is the best striker in the World. Ronaldo isn't a striker and Messi has never done it on a cold night at The Hawthorns.
Of course he's the best in the world, you could chop both of his legs off and he'd still score an over head kick from 30 yards out.
Seriously, it's all about next season for me. He's been a revelation this year, but everybody knows about him now. If he can still bang them in next year, when I feel he will be much more closely watched, then that will show that he's top drawer.
Some players have scored more than him and some match him, but they're either in worse leagues, not strikers or a massive bellend. Lacazette, Soriano and Zahavi count for the first category, Meier the second and Costa the third. He's done very well this season, but we need to bring in competition and back-up for him for the next campaign. He's looking a bit jaded and we've not got any realistic alternatives to come in, unfortunately. Our supply for the forward line's been questionable at times, too.
I've seen a lot of people saying this in the media and I don't go for it. Sides have known about him for awhile now and tend to act quickly when a player is making a name for themselves. When Sterling broke through managers were setting up to stop him within 5 games and did it successfully. Same with Bale, they quietened him down and made him less effective until he worked out how to beat different types of opponents on a regular basis(being able to find the top corner from 30 yards helped). Kane's had all this special treatment and it's gone largely unnoticed because he's taken it in his stride, like he does with everything. It also helps that he's not a pace player, or a player that suits double marking, he just has a bit of everything to his game. I'm sure he'll struggle for form at somepoint in the future and I'm sure he'll have seasons worse than this but I don't believe for a second that he'll lose form and fade away like some are concerned about.
So do I, but I maintain that he'll be far more closely watched from now on. If he can bang in 25-30 goals again next season, then I'll be a confirmed believer. For me, the mark of an outstanding player is that everybody knows what he's about, but still can't stop him doing it. Bale was only slowed up temporarily, he's far too good to be shackled.
Everyone's know about Kane since he destroyed Chel53a in January. If anything, he's just gotten better. He really is an unbelievable talent.
I'm not overly concerned about his goals because he's not your Van Nistelrooy type that only offers goals, he could score 15 in a season and still be better than a player that scores 25. It may well be that he moves back to play off the striker or on the left for awhile too, depending on whether we get another quality striker in. I get the concern about next season, I just don't agree with it
Best striker ever more like. The best players do it when it really matters. How many did he bag in the cup final BTW?
I agree with YV, I think Kane has the ability and mentality to be able to maintain the current level of performances while also studying new ways of beating tactics that are set up to double/ triple up on him. Bale managed to do it, as did Modric, as did Rafa, as did Berbatov. The improvements he's made this season is scary, truly scary. Bale progressed into a great player over the span of about 2 or 3 seasons and began reaching his potential at around 23/24 years old, Kane, in about 7 months has become the deadliest striker in England and one of the most talked about prospects on the planet - all at 21 years old. I don't usually like hyping up a player to an over the top extent as I tend to jinx things but how can we not get excited about how far he's come and what he's accomplished in just a short space of time? We have an absolute gem of a young player who I think Poch will build the team around. I really hope the club does all it can in future seasons to ensure he's happy here and won't allow him to be swayed elsewhere, even if it means an improved contract each season with tons of bonuses, if he continues and possibly improves on current form, he'll be worth every penny.
How do you feel after we destroyed you at WHL. Chel53a. Joke club with no history, classless player, and an absolute ****stain of a manager. I don't care how many trophies you've won, they're all tainted since they're all bought with some Russian crook's money.
He looks quality there is no doubt but next season will be big test as his card will be marked etc. Benteke (Last night aside ) and Lukaku are just 2 that have had difficult seasons by comparison to last year.
