What I meant Nuggets is that Burley was sacked after 8 games into the Season.

In that case, I agree with you. Fired too early and although I doubt he could have done much better than Royle, Burley deserved better after what he gave to this club.

When MM leaves, whether that is in one year or five,I just hope his successor gets us playing more entertaining football.Because too often over his tenure it really hasn't been worth the money I shell out for a season ticket and I can't say I really look forward to the games.Despite that I'll keep turning up and make the most of the good days!

    Ipswich 'til I die.

    I think that Mal would be a great coup for us, why;
No one can dispute that he had Cardiff purring in the championship--so he has the credentials
He also knows how to get the best out of players-- just think what he could do for bishop for example
He has a good tactical brain and is able to mix things up when needed
While we all complain about one player or another I would love to see him work with our current squad
He is young and completely in touch with the modern game
He knows players best position and sticks with it
He knows how to set out teams to win matches

Pretty much everything our current manager sadly lacks

I know you will proceed to rip this to pieces letter by letter but I think this is an honest assessment

So this is why he hasn't won a Home Game since he joined Wigan back in November!

    A tactical genius! <laugh>

I wouldn't want a man like him managing our football club, as long as he has that investigation hovering over him. Mackay is facing allegations of racism, sexism, and homophobia, and as a family-friendly club, with strong links to the community, I believe we can do so much better than him.

I'll admit he did well to get promoted at Cardiff, but he was aided by a very deep transfer budget, which enabled him to outspend pretty much all the other clubs in the division and sign several players of proven quality. Even then, his transfer record was very hit and miss and he had an approximate net spend of just shy of £40m (not including undisclosed fees), and just over £10m of that was spent to get into the Premier League in the first place, building upon a side that were perennial play-off challengers.

His time at Wigan has been a spectacular disappointment. As Warky pointed out, he hasn't won a game at home and, looking at that Wigan side, they shouldn't be fighting against relegation and, realistically, should not be anywhere near that points total. Granted some of the blame should be attributed to his predecessor, but in this dog-eat-dog world of football, you cannot expect to still be in a job after the run of results he has had.

Not to mention he played for Norwich.

I'd rather we stuck to McCarthy then hire that muppet.

I would like the next manager to be foreign and youngish, someone who had a few successful seasons in something like the Spanish or dutch second divisions, someone with different ideas, who will look at and know foreign talent!!
Lets get away from the same old ****, thats my wish!!

A young, progressive Dutch manager would top my list. I can't think of any names off the top of my head though. Hopefully we'll bring in a couple of quick Spaniards as well, I know it's a bit of a generalisation, but they've been coached to be comfortably with the ball at their feet since a young age. We're only now implementing widespread continental coaching techniques for our youngsters.

I think talk of the next manager is, hopefully, a little premature. But if McCarthy leaves in the summer, I guess it's wise for the board to have a shortlist lined up ready.

If I had to choose it would be Tarricco.
