he'd only time to turn up for 1 minute then he had to go back to living the good life... imagine what a player he'd be if he was actually bothered.

Quite simply - we need to spend far more wisely. Teams like At Madrid, Dortmund and even Ajax have proven that you can compete on limited budgets - and their budgets are far less than ours.

All we needed to do was not give Soton £50m, and find a better option than Mario. Our marquee signings let us down and there is only one man at fault for that.

He has surpassed that three Pringle benchmark.

Not sure there are many sides who wouldn't want a 20 a season striker.

We could ad Origi to the list also but he has been roughing it out in France

  12. I never questioned or criticised Lukaku, simply pointing out (as I always do) that you Evertonians only ever defend him by pointing at Lambert, Borini and Balotelli as if they are some high level strikers that would be hard to better #benchmark If he's good, why not compare him to some good players? <laugh>

  14. That's 18 in all competitions isn't it? Some don't have the luxury of playing Young Boys to boost their figures <whistle>

we don't need to spend any more, we just need to stop buying crap. We're right old horders of junk. £80m for Lallana, Markovich, Lovren, and Balotelli - bloody hell, when will we learn.

So now goals against EL teams dont count.....

Should it be just goals against PL teams?

The reaily of the situation is, Arsenal are spending on individual targets like Ozil and Sanchez, Chelsea are spending shedloads, United will have spend over a 3rd of a billion in two seasons come this summer. City are now going to meet ffp and if they grab that 4th spot, and they will, they will spend, even with all the crying about "dodgy" sponsorship deals, a couple of United's have been dodgy, like that DHL deal so it's pathetic, I reckon most big deals are dodgy anyways for all the big clubs, money finds it's way back to the sponsor one wayor another.

So with 4 teams above us spending on targets.. with CL football, we either need to have world class scouts or spend as much to complete because otherwise all targets of quality will be snapped up by those four, well whatever is left over after Barca bayern and Real anyways.

So in the context of all that.. CL is essential and we've screwed the pooch.
