Hoof ball worked on Saturday. Punt upfield and a flick-on, then a lay back for Vargas. Long ball out wide, and then (I can hardly believe I'm typing this) Zamora outpaced the covering defender and flicked it in over the keeper from wide of the area at full pace.....

Long balls don't always harm us... :)

You're right.
I really dislike 4-4-2 and hoof ball, but from now till the end of the season we simply have to go for it and play 2 up front with direct football and hope for the best.
It helped on Saturday that both Vargas and Nico didn't play as a winger on the left, instead cutting inside to get in behind the two strikers.

I noticed Advocaat had Sunderland lined up 4-3-3 yesterday, with 3 proper strikers - Wickham, Fletcher and Defoe (ok only one of them any good, but strikers all the same). Against a 4-1-4-1 for Toon. Very Dutch.

I like to think we snubbed him too. £3m a year for a coach with 5 months P.L. experience. NO THANKS even if he keeps Villa up he is not worth that kind of salary based on his experience!!!!!!!

If he keeps Villa or anybody up it's worth at least 30 times £ 3 million,

It never ceases to amaze me that people moan about a manager's pay when it is a fraction of a very ordinary player's wage. I bet Ramsey is on peanuts compared to SWP and some of our other passengers, he was given the ultimate short-straw of a job, no way of bringing in new players, and is likely to be replaced if he fails with all the odds stacked against him. If he succeeds in keeping us up he should name his price...

Just heard Rodnee on Talksport suggesting there might be 6 changes to the team v WBA. Obviously Vargas and Yun with a head injury (apparently). Who might the other 4 be? Been off air a little lately so may be behind the times.

Yes I noticed that too.

So Rodnee is in on the team selection and Ramsey lets him talk to the press about it so Sherwood knows we are weakened
Yeah likely......

Two changes.....Vargas unfortunately....and I think Yun's may be a bit of an "excuse".... For such a match, I wonder if CR was always going for the old war horse (Hill).

CR hasn't got the depth of experienced fit players to play around anymore, we are stretched.
If we are playing hoofball...it will be Hill and Kranky in

Unsure, thought it was a strange thing to say - ie 6 changes - but who knows with the Rs these days.. Looking forward to an early morning start - clocks changed here on Sunday so the kick offs are now an uncivilised 4.30 or 5am.

So U21 this afternoon are:
Lumley; Gibbons, Haran, Dunne, Kakay; Shodipo, Comley, Hamalainen, Mulraney; Manning; Pattie.
Under-21s Subs: Donaldson, Lennox, Corkery, J Williams

So none of the likely suspects are playing except Dunne (and Comely who has been on the bench)

So who is injured and who is playing/bench tonight....Fer, Traore, Tarrbs, Greco-Cox, Doughty, SWP, Hoillet

(actually on the U21 page it does mention Furlong is injured)

U21 drew 3-3 (we scored in 88 minute, they equalised at 92 minutes)
Dunne came through unscathed taken off just before the end

I am sure he will be available for WH...maybe on bench next Sunday
