Well if the Guardian the most pro Labour paper out there thinks Miliband won then he must of
Everyone who reads the Guardian is a clear labour supporter, that is why you read it!
If I've just told you I don't support Labour, how can you tell me who I do or don't support? Doesn't make sense.
Miliband at best came 5th on the night, the SNP women really showed him up whilst Cameron got the best laugh of the night when he pointed out that 80 Labour MPs employ people on zero hour contracts. He only got off lightly with Farage, as it was in both leaders interests to form an alliance against Cameron.
In an earlier post, you told me that you didn't pay too much attention to the polls or it depends which ones you look at. Now you're using them to suit your argument to say he came 5th? Make your mind up. In most of the ones I've seen Miliband came either first or second, anyway.
Miliband and Labours views should of seen Miliband have a go at Farage, for some of his opinions, but he didn't want to risk getting Farage against him. So he tactfully ignored what he truly believes in. Just goes to show the charecter of the man. He'll do anything to get into power even if it involves not standing up for what he truly believes.
You may be right. I'd still rather have him in charge rather than Farage who would single-handedly destroy this country with his core policies.
He even agreed with Farage when Farage said Labour made mistakes in there last government. He was brown nosing him to stop him starting on him
Actually Miliband has maintained that position for a while even before the leaders' debate, so I don't think it's justified for you to use that as a stick to beat him with. At least he could admit that the last government made mistakes. Most of the other leaders wouldn't even do that.
Those studies you have put up aren't factual, they are just written by people who are also of a similar opinion to you. Immigrants themselves likely write these type of articles.
So The Economist and the UCL Centre for Research and Analysis of Migration, both highly respected worldwide, have just based it on their opinions and no research or studies whatsoever (even though the articles are backed up with statistics)? Your reasoning that 'immigrants themselves' write these articles is an anaemic argument.
[QUOTE[It is not a myth that the country is full up, it is my opinion that it is full up. Whilst it's your opinion that it isn't. No myths what so ever. On a space per person scale we must be the most populated country in Europe, and one of the most populated in the world. I'd imagine only a few country's in Asia are more populated in comparison to land.[/QUOTE]
We have plenty of space in this country. It is not immigrants fault that the Conservative government have failed to reach their target for the social housing that they were meant to build or that they have persisted with the Right to Buy scheme which has led to people not being able to afford housing and those who are renting to have prices astronomically increase due to the landlords' greed. You do realise how many empty houses there are out there?
The banks may have increased the money by 12%, but that doesn't take into account inflation. Everything is getting more expensive by the year, and a 12% increase is knowhere near enough to account for inflation. A pound is not as valuable as it was years ago. Besides have you not lived in this country for the past 10 years, through the recession and the credit crunch?
I'm 19 so I wasn't affected too much by the recession or the credit crunch. In any case, I'd rather you don't try and use my age as a stick to beat me with but whether you take into account inflation or not, if you look at all the figures and statistics in their entirety, we have never seen so much money in the course of history.
How has there been no evidence of foreigners taking advantage of the NHS? You really are delusional.
Okay. So what if some people from other countries come over here for treatments if needed? should you not treat someone on the basis of their are or the colour of their skin? That's an appalling attitude to have. What about the amount of things that foreigners have contributed to our society, to our culture and to our NHS? This is such a stupid thing to even be arguing about.
Nigel Farage made a great point about 60% of people being treated for HIV at £25,000 a year being non nationals. So if that's not evidence, then what is? I'm sure there are lots of other instances of this, it's not just going to be on HIV treatment.
I'm not sure where he got that statistic from and I don't have time to check as I'm in a rush, but even if it's true, so what? The NHS has been crippled due to the top-down reorganisation of it by the Tories. Spending per patient has gone down by 9% and there have been less qualified staff whilst an increase in privatisation. Not the fault of immigrants, but the incumbent government.
As far as the rest of Europe is concerned, I've had to get health insurance everytime I've been anywhere there. Yet they can come here and get treated for free, and then go home. So our citizens aren't being treated the same abroad as foreigners are here.
We are one of very few countries in the world to offer free healthcare (to an extent). You didn't address my point about the Britons living in foreign countries taking out more in state benefits compared to the foreigners who come over here. And please don't blame it on the NHS thing because that is just lazy.
The only reason the living standards where apparently better under Labour is because Blair and Brown selfishly did everything they could to keep themselves in power for so long. T
his meant borrowing billions of pounds to dish out in benefits to keep voters sweet. They weren't running the country in it's best interests, they where just selfishly running it to keep themselves in a job for the short term. Now for the next 20 or so years, the rest of us are going to have to pay for their selfishness
So much wrong with this, I don't know where to begin. Will try to address it when I'm back home.
