This interview has appeared after his situation has been discussed long and hard though, he probably thought he should state his case as every other Tom, Dick and Harry has had their say.

Yes, people are discussing it but everyone seems to be of the opinion he should accept whatever Liverpool are offering and get his head down, like they made him who he is.

They didn't, they bought him in the first place and to them he is an asset, that's all. Plus, like I said earlier, he might really dislike his working environment so it could well be Liverpool isn't the right place for him. Who are we to know?

I accept it's going to be discussed, it's the talking heads who don't know him ramming their opinions down his and our throats I can't stand.

Yep but I would probably have said that United was the best place for Pogba.
I know what you're getting at with Ray Wilkins and everyone coming out with their tuppence worth. I dont even think they're doing it as some misguided belief that he owes Liverpool. It's primarily bcos it's an English club. Would they say that about Christian Atsu or Schurrle when they were signing from foreign clubs (in the CL) for Chelsea?? Ofcourse not. It's the usual double standards by British media and pundits but it's to be expected.

I feel a little sorry for Sterling.

I accept that football is right in our face and everyone has an opinion but every time I turn the radio on (Talk sport) there's someone on there offering their opinion on him and what he should do when it's absolutely none of their ****ing business. It's his job and how much he should get and where he should work is being discussed on a continuous loop, from Stan Collymore to Ray Wilkins, and most of them are quite simply guessing about what he really thinks. It's none of their business, he should tell them, bluntly, to **** right off.

Perhaps it's not greed, perhaps he just hates his job and working environment and wants to work elsewhere, God know's we've probably all been there in our lives. He might just think his boss is a compete prick.

He also might well be being a greedy git, trying to get what he can when he can. Well, that's his prerogative in trying to make himself a living. He no doubt knows he's not worth the money so is going to have it when he can, can't blame him for that.

People should stop being shocked by what footballers are paid and how much they want, it's just gone way beyond that now.

I agree, everyone wants to hang this lad for everything he says or does and it's quite frankly boring, he's a good player and one day he maybe very good. He may be at Liverpool and he may not after this Summer. If he goes then fine he isn't a Suarez (in footballing terms) so can be replaced.

Everyone is looking at that interview and spinning their own story.

Talkshite was genuinely PATHETIC this morning. They did a 2 minute recorded and edited montage (I kid you not) of one manager/pundit after another saying "I would tell Raheem the best thing for him is Liverpool", "He is at the right club", "Stay, keep your head down and the money will come". Everyone from 'Arry Rednapp to Ray Parlour. It was cringeworthy that they actually made the effort to make that. It was like LFC had paid them to do it.

"Liverpool are one of the superpowers of football and if the owners don't want to sell, they don't have to," said Rodgers.
<laugh>

Rodgers added: "Concentration should be on his football. If his ambition is TO WIN trophies that's aligned with what we do here."

There was no permission from us," he said. "He will learn. We all make mistakes in life, especially when we are young.

Them scousers are the only club in the world that believe that a "superpower" of world football can go over a quarter of a century without winning their domestic league.

The guy has zero man management skills. Fighting it out in the media with a 20 year old kid. [HASHTAG]#cuttingoffyournosetospiteyourface[/HASHTAG]

He keeps calling him Boy or Kid...The "boy" must love that <whistle>

Brenda is a muppet. Even after a bad performance the players "couldn't have worked harder or given more". On that basis the RS should probably be well ahead in the league. Just **** scared of his players. No wonder they don't respect him and treat him like one of the gang.

I cannot see how Sterling can now stay with the RS. He will move on to a big club. <ok>

He plays to the fans. All the rhetoric in that interview is to make himself look good. He should have not discussed it and spoken to Sterling behind the scenes if he was unhappy with the interview Sterling had given. The more I see of this the less convinced I am this is about money. As the cliche goes sometimes a person just needs an arm around the shoulder and a bit of wanting to be valued or made to feel important. That can be for a host of reasons for Sterling.

Instead I think LFC have just tried to throw money at the problem and when that hasnt worked they've made the narrative to be about that to make Sterling out to be the bad guy.

Nonsense, he was gash when we bought him, right up to Rodgers first season he was gash. Rodgers played a big part in Sterling's improvement because it was never his ability that was in question, he was clueless on how to apply his aibility and tbh, still has a lot of work to do, but Rodgers transformed him in a year into a much better player in terms of football intelligence.

He's been gash again this season, he should get his head down, be thankful and not be sniffing at 100k a week, just turned 20 like
