Yes, but the then the detectives can come out without fear. At some point they'll find someone guilty. If that person turns out to be innocent, then we turn on the detective. So the worst would be 6-4, with the town hopefully still having a functioning detective.

The mafia's only hope would be to recruit or kill both detectives. Possible, but would require a lot of fortune. It would be an almost Biscan-esque bluff by Astro.
 
Suggest we proceed and have no "no lynch" voting allowed and if someone doesn't vote they either are automatically dead or on a coin flip with whoever gets most votes for the lynching. That way everyone has to vote and no-one can sit in the background.

Fair enough though, I'll take your 6-4 game and say a member of the mafia will claim to be the other detective.

As for your last bit, lets hope certain players aren't the detective. IE, if its Tobes then were ****ed!

Tobes is mafia. There's no way he's dumb enough to ask if the mafia know who each other are as a genuine question.
 
Tobes has observed and occasionally commented on every game we've played <whistle>
