Agree with MITO. Liverpool should be the best place for him in his development,of he wants out then cash in on him while his stock is ridiculously high, it's a shame but meh, we've lost bbetter players.

    Difficult one this...

On the one hand he may not get CL footy with LFC next season but he won't get it sitting on the bench at Chelsea or Real Madrid either.

But having said that, will he have more chance elsewhere 2 or 3 seasons from now? It really does depend on whether LFC can get into top 4 in that time. In that sense, I can understand his concerns.

well that is a matter of perception.

to some lads sitting on a bench and playing 215/20 games in a side that wins the league is better than playing 38 games in 5th place....

fa cup on a bench is better than a semi final losers spot.

    etc etc

I think nobody can be sure where he'll be in 2/3 years but he might be a bit shcoked when the big clubs are all going nuts over bale and ronaldo and he finds himself having alienated LFC and being sold to another club or not playing in august cos we want to sell him.

In the end at 20 he's thinking he's alreay ready... and what you don't know you don't know so he could get an awful land f he gets his move and finds people are not quite so forgiving when he misses a sitter from 5 yards out and he doesn't get another change for 10 games.

like... c'mon falcao is a perfect example to him of how a big name on big moeny can be made look like dirt by a big name manager.

I am sure the best place for him is where he's at but I can also see if he's ambitious he wants to raise his game and develop further (which in his exciteable young mind believes to be at a CL side even though he may be well down the pecking order)

Btw mito wtf is up with your spelling and grammar. It's like decoding the enigma machine reading your posts ffs!

He's talented, but nowhere near as good as he thinks he is. He's ambitious, but his agent isn't keeping his feet on the ground. His performances this year have been poor for the most part and he's got a lot of development to do still.

Want trophies, sure, go for it. But a bigger team (now) than Liverpool aint going to play him as he currently is so bench warmer it'll be.

He needs to play football right now, not look at better players and think he's at that level. 100k is far exceeding his value...take it and shut up whilst continuing your development tbh. Brilliant offer on the table.

I still go back to swp

    His honours

    Chelsea

    Queens Park Rangers

Does anyone seriously think he's play a major part in any of those medals?

I'll grant you he played in 05 and 06 but in 11 he was playing very few games

Is this a glorious career? Hmmm I dunno

We could say the same of glen Johnson mind he won it all too didn't ge. Played a lot for us and won very little....

The central question has still to be what's best for his career, not what he owes lfC or what's good for lfc

From what I have seen he has a few rough edges to knock off yet. Gareth bale stayed at Spurs signed a big contract and still got to move so the question has to be will he find a move better to knock off those rough edges or will one it two more years where he is serve him best

Then he has to acknowledge that if he thinks he can wind down what he has got and move on a free he his going to walk into a problem

Believe me if we can sit badontelly and borini on the sidelines on double his current wages why would he think he cannot be made vanish for a year? Does he think england will wait for him?

It's a big decision he's got so I hope lfc are tough in him and he makes the decision that suits him but benefits us either way

As it stands now 100k a week is not good enough for him, what amazes me is the balls of his agent, huge ****ng balls. Raheem while talented, is still not there yet, and has a bit to go. He has the talent but hasn't mastered getting the best out of it by a long way.

You got his agent in his ear telling him how wonderful he is every 5 mins. He's a kid still and turns down a 100k a week! This is the agent all over it. All these agents are looking at the new TV deal money comng in, increased cash from European tourneys with EL and CL money being added to.

If he was scoring even half the chances he has created for him or creates himself, I'd think about it but given his return in that department and his assists also.. no ****ing chance. You're almost there Raheem but not quite, take the 100k you dimwit or say you want to leave, one or the other ****y.

What this article says to me is that LFC are being a bit greedy and not offerring contracts at the right times. This is alienating players and pushing them away from the club. He should have been offerred a contract earlier. Henderson, Gerrard, Flanno aswell.
Club needs to look at their renewal strategy and alter to stop us from losing potential stars. Or maybe of course they want the players to move on so they can take the cash.
We have invested alot into Sterling, if we are going to seel then we need to accept that our owners see us an Ajax mach 2 who breed expert talent for other teams. I would not be all that happy with that.
For me we need to bring in a Suarez this summer, (As he was when he first joined) A supreme talent but not currently a media darling. This will convince fans and players that we are run well and headed in the right direction.

Its not down to the owners red, its down to Sterling believing the hype and his greed along with that of his agent pushing for a move.
He'll be gone for a hefty fee this summer imo.

As for holding off.. the guy only started performing last season like.. and hasn't been as good this season. So that's what it boils down to these days, you have a good season and demand more wages. Rooney manages it without performaing <laugh>

The whole thing is so ****ed up in the PL. Sure the relegated team of the PL get twice as much money as the Bundesliga champions <yikes>

He was happy enough to sign a £30k per week contract in 2012, that was for 5 years, but 2 years later £100k is now not enough, but of course it's not about the money.......

Ungrateful little ****e. You lot have given him his chance, he's got into the England team and he's tasted CL football, but he thinks that he's big enough to 'keep his options open' until the summer. He owes you another couple of seasons and it'd also be the best thing for his own development imo

    On Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers:
"I speak to Brendan on good terms. He calls me when he needs to talk to me and I can talk to him when I want. There's nothing bad to say or think about Brendan. He's been really good to me since I came into the team and he's always tried to help me."

That's the biggest thing that stood out for me - can anyone remember a 20 year old lad calling his manager by this first name like he's a mate rather than the boss? Can't remember it ever happening under SAF, and doubt Paisley or Shankly would have put up with it either.

No wonder Sterling seems confident enough not only to set his wage demands but also the conditions under which he is willing to negotiate with LFC.

****ing agent man. I can smell it. Sterling's ego is pretty big I'd say.. you have that ****pig in his ear telling him he deseerves more, eventually he'll believe it. He's young enough to be such a sucker

He can deny he is greedy all he likes, but he is clearly a money grabber.
Don't think it matters what we offer him though, he will be leaving in the summer.
