yes just showing their delusion. I know we are a bit deluded thinking anyone will pay 50mil but hey there might be a sucker... but a swap for the broken down crock that is theo? sorry but no way...
Signing players from other prem teams is problematic. They look good for the fleeting moments we see them, problem is how often do we see them, in the case of Ings cause nobody watches Burnley and with Walcott cause he's always injured. And to add to that they cost an arm and a leg, unless contracts are out. Looking at both players, Ings: first season so who knows what he'll be like next year. Walcott: good at times, injured alot (alot) if he could get over he could be a good player for us, but can we afford to have another player miss huge amounts of games. I think Walcott would improve the team at a first team level, Ings only an improvement on a squad level. I'd still prefer us to go down the foreign route at the moment as we've been badly burnt with Prem players and the prices they've cost us.
Mandzukic has been strongly linked with a move away from Atletico. Could be worse players.. big strong players reminds me of Costa in terms of strengths.. maybe not the quick pressing forward but certainly a better option than anything we have
Liverpool news: I love playing at Anfield and want to be there for years’, says midfielder Jordan Henderson Jordan Henderson is relishing his role for club and country .newGigyaShare { display: none !important; } please log in to view this image Late bloomer: Jordan Henderson had to overcome a rocky start to his career with both Liverpool and England Photo: REX FEATURES Such is Jordan Henderson’s growing importance for club and country that it will come as a relief to both Brendan Rodgers and Roy Hodgson when they hear the midfielder has given his strongest indication yet that he will “soon” sign a new contract with Liverpool. The vice-captain at Anfield has become a pivotal figure for England – Henderson is one of the so-called ‘unit leaders’, an unofficial captain of the midfield in effect – and is relishing the responsibility. Settling his club future, which could include Henderson being confirmed as Steven Gerrard’s successor as Liverpool’s next captain, will aid the 24-year-old’s development. “It’s definitely not a distraction,” Henderson says, even though he has just 15 months left on his current Liverpool deal. “For me playing football is all I’ve ever wanted to do and contracts and stuff can be sorted out by clubs and agents. That’s why we’ve got agents, to sort stuff like this out, along with the club, and hopefully this can get done soon. All I want to do is concentrate on my football and not let this get in the way.” In case that left any doubt over his intentions, with talks having been put on hold until the summer after an extension was initially offered last autumn, Henderson says: “I love playing football for Liverpool and I want to be there for many years and in terms of my contract I think everybody else will make a big deal of it but for me it’s just letting my agent and the club deal with it and whenever it gets sorted, it gets sorted. All I want to do is my best for club and country.” please log in to view this image Henderson's determination has seen him become the favourite to replace Gerrard Henderson has come a long way very quickly – for the second time in his career. He burst on the scene and made his England debut against France at Wembley in November 2010, while he was still at Sunderland. The game did not go well, a 2-1 defeat, as he and the team struggled. “I was quite young [20] at the time and it was a shock to my system when I first made my debut,” Henderson admits. “It was disappointing for me personally and for the team as well. But I feel as though I’ve learnt a lot from there and have matured a lot. I would like to think I’ve improved my game a lot, so I feel from there it is very different.” It was the same when he moved to Liverpool the year after, for £20 million. Henderson struggled badly and was set to leave for Fulham in a cut-price deal after just one year at the club. He was told he could leave or stay and fight for his Anfield career. He fought. “I’ve always thought you’ll go through difficult times in life, really, and certainly in your career. You’ve just got to keep believing and be true to yourself and keep working as hard as you possibly can. I think belief is the biggest thing. If you can overcome what everybody else says or thinks about you, if you have belief in yourself, then you can get through that and get through anything. “I always felt if I kept working as hard as everyone else and kept improving, I could have an important part to play at Liverpool, even when I first went there. I continue to do that. “It’s the same with England. I still feel there’s a lot more to come on the international level from me personally, so that’s another challenge for me. Can I perform better? Can I be better every single game I play? Hopefully I can carry on doing that and keep improving and keep being an important player for Liverpool and hopefully for England as well.” please log in to view this image Henderson expects to start against Italy in Turn on Tuesday Henderson is set to start for England against Italy in Tuesday’s high-profile friendly in Turin, cementing his status as one of Roy Hodgson’s more durable and reliable players. The fixture will be England’s first meeting with Italy since losing 2-1 in the heat and humidity of Manaus during last summer’s World Cup in Brazil when both nations appeared to take so much out of each other that neither managed to make it out of the group. “They’re a big side so it will be a test for us, but a test that we’ll look forward to,” Henderson says. “It’s a challenge to go to Italy and get a good result and performance. If we can do that, that will put us in good stead if we do manage to qualify [for Euro 2016].” As with England, Italy are an evolving squad, especially – like England – in midfield, where Henderson can expect to be up against Marco Verratti as its creative hub given Andrea Pirlo is injured. The two have faced each other before at under-21 level. “He is a very good player and presses the ball well, wins the ball back and breaks up attacks for the team, but is good on the ball as well,” Henderson says. “He’s an important player for them but you have to challenge yourself against top players and he certainly is one.” http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/fo...r-years-says-midfielder-Jordan-Henderson.html
i'll translate this... when i said i'd not be doing anything til after season nobody at all came calling to my agent.
Henderson was never going to leave. He's at the perfect club for him and has become a key player for us. He's not going to get sinilar chances at any other club.
"Liverpool are preparing a £15m bid for Derby's 19-year-old midfielder Will Hughes. (Metro) " Haven't seen too much of him this year... flagged up as big potential but £15m is a lot for a Championship midfielder. Overpriced due to being young and English?

The Belgium international was proclaimed as ‘the new Johan Cruyff’ when he emerged last term, but now it is thought that the teenager will be shipped out of Old Trafford in the summer. The Manchester Evening News claim that Januzaj will be offered to Everton in a swap deal that will see Seamus Coleman go the other way. Van Gaal is thought to be a huge fan of the Irish defender, and hopes to sweeten the Goodison Park team by offering Januzaj in return. Saido Berahino also looks to be on the move when the end of the season rolls around. The striker told reporters this week that he wants to ‘move on to bigger things’. Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham are all rumoured to be interested in getting the goalscorer, who would cost around £15m. Liverpool meanwhile, have also been alerted to Inter Milan goalkeeper Samir Handanovic. The 30-year-old shot-stopper is leaving the Italian giants at the end of the campaign, his agent revealed yesterday – and would prefer a move to the Premier League. Have your say Sterling performed well in England's 4-0 win over Lithuania on Frida
I can see Raheem wanting a return to London... not sure Arsenal would match his apparent self-image though? Chelsea surely. Think he's friendly with a lot of the young English players at Arsenal however.
He wouldn't get game time at Arsenal, they are possibly the strongest team in the league when it comes to attacking players (not strikers)
Remember Rodgers blocked Suarez from moving to Arsenal. Rodgers will do it again to Sterling. Sterling cannot move to a rival club. Fergie spent his whole United career blocking players from moving to rivals and it proved to assist success. Arsene Wenger has let loads of players go to rivals and it has damaged him and his teams title hopes. Sterling is ours. We've invested a lot in him, supported him, protected him from being broken by Roy Hodgson's 'I dont care if players need individual training methods' approach.
i can see FSG being the ones telling rodgers what to do. he played ball with carroll... he might even have instigated it. he shut his mouth on suarez.... both of these might have suited him.. he shut his mouth on balotelli clearly his actions since showed he never wanted him. I reckon he'll shut his gob on sterling too..
