yes there would have been and all well know murders, and what a much nicer place when they were gone

Along with soldiers, civilians, women and children...This was going nowhere until this peace process was brokered..And much as I hate the fact that murdering scum bags walked free, it has proved to be the correct course of action in my opinion..

As a member of the armed services yes no doubt you would and that is the right thing to do. But would you want to be in a position where you could be killed or that required you to kill someone. I would like to think that you never wanted to kill but did so in the line of duty.
I've took human life mate.
The first one was hard because he was just a kid like myself.
It did however get easier.
Hell, in Bosnia I even got a liking for it - I just detached myself & got on with the job.
Once the bastards let us go in that is.

Billy I thank my lucky stars that I have never been in a position where I had to take a life, but I do know people who have and like you they say that the first time is the worst but most of them do say that they would never want to do it again but would if it was in their line of duty,

Mate, I've got no argument with you.
Ask any soldier what's the worst job you can be given & most of them will tell you it's peacekeeping.
Especially if you are under the UN flag. Might as well send men in with arms tied behind their backs & no rounds in their rifles.
Yugoslavia really screwed me up - more frustration than anything else.
When we finally got the nod I just let bleeze.

WHEN YOU SEE FOR YOURSELF THE DEVASTATION OF INNOCENT CIVILIANS MURDERED AND MAIMED, when the ****ers who did it knew what decimation that bomb would cause, i would gladly line them up against a wall and shoot them myself and be proud of the fact i had done it.

I totally agree, and would love to see the people who caused the death and suffering get a taste of it themselves; but that's why I would never make a politician...The decision to let murderers from both sides of the divide walk free left a bitter taste in my mouth, but the fact is that it has saved many lives in the long run, so in my opinion has therefore proved to be the correct one..

`Believing the crap spouted by Bush and the so called American Intelligence Services proved to be his biggest mistake, but I remember at the time that he had the backing of the majority of the country....The nation as a whole during his time as PM was the fairest in my lifetime, so he wasn't all bad..

No & lets face facts Reg, he wasn't all good either.
Let's be honest about it, we're so far up the Septic Tanks arseholes, we might as well be cleaning their teeth with our bell ends.
I mean, for gods sake, we're the 51st state.
We might as well hang the ****ing stars & bastard stripes above Buckingham bastard Palace.

Undoubtedly it is the USA who pull all the strings in the western world, with NATO, The IMF and World Bank dancing to their tunes..

But Bill, Saddam had already used chemical weapons on the Iranians and Kurds and boasted that he an arsenal of them. Then he had refused the international teams access to his arsenals saying he would lead the world into nuclear war. Given that and his grip on control of movement within Iraq he was a man not to be trusted especially when nuclear grade weapons were possibly available from USSR he was a man to be afraid of.

Add his invasion of Kuwait which gave him access to a port from which he could export his oil more easily then it is none the wonder that he was taken out.. Maybe no WMDs were found in the end but the threat was there and his bluff failed badly.

Fully agree marra..
As someone was was involved in Operation Gr**by (Liberation of Kuwait), Yugoslavia, Sierra Leonne, 2nd Gulf conflict and more recently Operation Def****ce (Libya) it's becoming more and more evident where 'our' orders are coming from.

Hope nobody minds, my mate is coming on tomorrow who has been involved in victim support programmes regarding northern Ireland. He knows a bit more through talking to people ITK over there and the full length and details over the peace process and other things. It's a subject I'm interested in and gaining knowledge and surprisingly for all he's been betrayed by both sides he's a fair man who sees it from both sides so I'll certainly be interested in what he has to say..

I'll be interested, just don't promise him a warm welcome mate. Never know who is going to get offended by what.
