Sat in the Upper Loft with Everton mate of mine - both asking how the feck we didn't win that.

I thought the lads played really well. Austin and Zamora linked up brilliantly, with OBZ being a right handful with his back to goal (shame about the finishing tho!). Back four looked organised and strong, Yun probably the weakest as he seems to have stopped taking players on.

Best I have seen Barton play. Ran himself ragged and threw himself at every shot.

BUT, it's the story of our season. No killer touch and unable to bury a poorer team. I have faith that if we play like that we could get out of it, but on the other hand, Everton were there for the taking and we couldn't do it.

Ffs.

The BBC called us 'spirited'. It's a journalist's term meaning 'unlucky'....

..... And now, to add more salt to the wound, we have to listen to Martinez talking nonsense

I disagree with nearly all of that.
BZ and Charlie didn't link up at all and apart from a couple of decent lay offs, BZ was a waste of time. We looked at our most threatening once Bobby went off and Vargas and Taarabt were playing little one twos behind Austin. That's how we should start.
The defence were awful. Isla is probably the only one who isn't a Championship player. Every time Everton attacked we looked in trouble.

Barton was excellent though!

Superbly summed up col! If Vargas and Taarabt had played from the start we would probably win it 4-2..
Everton was so bad that my mate who is a everton-fan didnt even text me. Ramsey is so much out of his depth that it hurts. Just asking but how many more points we would have if Pardew had come to us instead palarse.....?

Ps. Barton was excellent.

I'm afraid it's simple,we can't defend! The amount of times this season we have been hit on the counter attack is laughable,it seems we simply have no answer to teams who hit us at pace, which in this league is most of them. What on earth Bond is still doing in a job I don't know,he is presumably the defensive coach. The defence is just not good enough,no matter what players we play there.Having to score 2 or 3 goals every match just to nick a point is ridiculous,it ain't gonna happen.Palace and Brom have brought in managers that understand that you need a tight defence, and then you can build from there, unfortunately we haven't learnt from our mistakes all season, and we are going to pay the price accordingly!

This is so right....we are concentrating so much on the attackibg side...and in fact...we know we cannot hold a lead, we cannot score enough goals (2) to hold a lead. We worry we score our winner too early
We know the opposition can score whenever they want

And this is unsolvable...because the defence is as good as it gets

Tinkering .......Furlong, Ned or Islas; Traore or Yun or Clint; Clint or Rio or Ned...all a bit of a muchness...nothing is gonna change. Ramsey or Bond cannot do anything with what they have been given at this stage
The defense is not good enough end of
