my views on this game are: 1. LFC played with 10 men for 90mins. Lallana is once again found out. Last monday he played the same, unable to press, unable to get back so hung round centre circle trying to look cool. taken on, gerrard lasts 1 min and then we are back to 10 men. 2. Utd played well and deserved the win. 3. Mata's is candidate for goal of season 4. LFC did not trun up, zero intensity just like swansea. not due to tactcis of utd either really, just didn't turn up again 5. Joe allen's time to get a ball under control is hialrious and the lads was found out again today. he takes about 5 mins to get a ball under control and is an accident waiting to happen when pressed. 6. atkinson get most decisions right, telling felliani 1,2,3 then... oh no more please was amazing though. that was a yellow there let off. Prob set the tone for gerrard's brain fart who came on thinking it was 1998 and he could kick anyone anytime. 7. SKertl should be retrospectively punished for stamp on de gea.
So I suppose if a keeper catches it thinking it's inside the box, but it's not, it's accidental and we can just play on... #clarity
Now that I've calmed down a bit - I think the players are tired. They have played a lot of football this season and Rodgers has not rotated well. Sterling hS played over a 1000 more minutes this season than last, combined with being played out of position. Can, Coutinho and Hendo have also played a lot this year. Rodgers should have done more during the cup games rather than playing full strength most times.
Hahahahaha what a bollocks deluded excuse. You were just out played by a better side and your captain committed hari kari
how is it a deluded excuse? How is it an excuse at all? I've said that we were second best today. I'm just making a general statement. But youre obviously incapable of reading comments from an objective POV and instead let your football tribalist bias get in the way.
You never mentioned being second best in that post, it was just about the poor little lambs being supposedly tired.
For me the answer is so obvious Sterling doesn't want to play rwb, lallana fancies himself To play with the required intensity we needed to have a genuine 4 across the Middle, sterling didn't gove that at rwb and lallana frankly killed any chance of us putting any pressure on as he was weak as **** Drop lallana next game, stick sterling right forward and tell him just run and press We move coutinho rather than admit lallana was useless. Coutinho plays great at left forward and be never got a chance cos we couldn't do a thing #luckranout
Sad that Mignolet's performance will get overlooked he saved a peno had a tango with Rooney and came out tops. First half we did not press as a unit and the difference is that lallana was not clinical when required. He dabbles too much and it is unfortunate that the game will be all about Gerrard's Brain farther. We need Markovic back at RWB as well as getting Lucas fit for the Arsenal game. As a team we cannot give up all we can do is go to arsenal and try and get a positive result and start chasing again
Yeah,he had little chance with either goal. Actually got something on the first one and was unlucky to see it go in off the foot of the post. No keeper would have got close to the second
Markovic is incredibly underrated in that RWB position. He's done very well defensively and struggled offensively but what he can do is carry the ball 20-30 odd yards to drive team forward. Ibe is best for that position but we need more cover there.
Migs was very good - felt he was a little hesitant coming off his line at times but im just nit picking. Surprised Sakho isn't getting praise because he was our best player and by far. Arguably the best CB in the league. Should be captain next year.
http://www.theanfieldwrap.com/2015/03/match-ratings-liverpool-v-manchester-united/ SIMON MIGNOLET 8 Saved a Wayne Rooney penalty. Deserves that to mean more than it did. EMRE CAN 4 Had that mad 10 seconds. You know the one. When he gave the ball away and went “I’ve got this lads” and then put everyone in murder. And he gave away a really soft penalty. But yeah apart from that. MARTIN SKRTEL 6 I think he was fine. I think. Can’t remember anything he did wrong. I’m sure you’ll let me know if he did. Did that mad thing where he plays left wing for ages after a corner. MAMADOU SAKHO 6 Opening goal was down his side but not seen it again to see if he could do better. Some lovely turns under pressure. JOE ALLEN 5 First half a text book argument for the Joe Allen haters. Timid and careless. Deserves credit for the 10-man resurgence though. JORDAN HENDERSON 5 Disappeared first half, great ball to Lallana though for that chance. Ran himself into the ground second half and looked shattered at the end. RAHEEM STERLING 5 Managers can try and take contract talks away but fans don’t listen. Was on the lips of every Liverpool fan every time he disappointed, which was plenty. But who else in the country is being asked to play 14 positions a game? ALBERTO MORENO 3 Just couldn’t keep the ball first half. Needs more composure. Offering my services to run at him screaming at Melwood to try and help him pass under pressure. PHILIPPE COUTINHO 7 Best outfield player. One of those games where he looks frustrated with everyone else. ADAM LALLANA 4 Any hopes, lad? DANIEL STURRIDGE 6 Scored but you still want more. Couldn’t get into the game. But could we get him into the game? SUBSTITUTES: STEVEN GERRARD: Yeah. MARIO BALOTELLI: Brendan deserves massive credit for this sub when almost everyone else would have done differently. Didn’t do everything you wanted him to. But does he ever? 6
