I lived 10 miles north of Burnley for 3 misserable years and let me assure you the town is a complete toilet - stereo typical northern mill town with narrow street, dirty terrace houses full of miserable little people. Town only has a population of about 30k and every town about it has its own team (Blackburn, Wigan, Bolton etc) so doesn't draw much support outside of the grubby little town.
And another thing the weather is horrible - cold wet and windy
Couldn't stomach the area for more than I did

He's just a passionate fan of his club, he's no different then most Saints fans, we all have grandiose ideas about the clubs we support!
I hope our spell in league one and the humbling and the respect it brought for other clubs is not forgotten to quickly!

Dark Lord, TBH, the villages around Northampton (like where you are) are wonderful....Northampton itself: it aint much better.

It is nearer to God's County of Hampshire and thus it is nearer to St Marys.

In answer to the question "what have Burnley ever done for us, did we not buy Wayne Thomas from the Clarets? And I seem to remember him scoring one unbelievable goal when we in the championship, can't remember against whom....or have I been eating too much cheese?

Burnley were an old first division side producing many great players. Ralph Coates, anyone? Brian O'Neill went from them to being a hero at The Dell. They have lots of local competition. We have none. The advantage was, and always will be ours now that teams are not made up of local players.

Good signing and if this is a sign of what NC and NA have planned, the future's bright, the future's red and white
