Aye they do, this is almost as bad as us last week. How hard is it to kill a game off and defend what is pretty much a 3 goal lead at home? Anyways, I want Arsenal to win #coefficient
That s the history of arsenal CL campaigns. Glorious failure. They **** it up in The first leg then when it is almost impossible they come close with a good performance. This is madness. Why not play properly in the first leg
If they had a proper goalscorer they would have gone through. Welbeck and Giroud never looked like scoring.
What a bitter ****er! Arsene Wenger: Monaco did not deserve last-eight place Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger says Monaco did not deserve their place in the Champions League quarter-finals after failing to register a shot on target in the second leg of their tie. For your information arsene, Monaco didn't need to score you did. In fact you needed to score 3 unanswered goals. Monaco scoring one wouldn't have made a difference to them. Learn for your captain mertersacker who was more magnanimous and right on the button.
Monaco deserved to go through for giving Arsenal a shoeing at home and Arsenal deserved to go out for being hammered at home by Monaco. Anything else is just utter bollocks. Arsenal failed. Again.
These managers can't half be bitter little scrotes sometimes (ours is one of the worst offenders). Serves Wenger right though, he got the easiest draw of all the PL teams, despite his team only finishing second in their group. If his team had turned up for the first leg, they would be home and dry. They gave a good account of themselves in Monaco, but still, too little, too late. ****ing away goals rule
On a side note, would love to see the away goals rule scrapped. Its bullshit. Go to extra time and pens ffs. Nothing to do with the fact that its shafted us a few times recently either
I think what's even more ridiculous is the away goal rule counting after extra time. We went out last week because both teams scored in extra time and we were at home. Makes absolutely no sense. Having the 2nd leg at home is meant to be an advantage as well. That element at the very least should be scrapped.
Yes that would make sense. Make away goals count for the two 90 minute games, then make it so away goals dont count in extra time, because if both teams score in extra time, as what happened, then it only benefits the away side. You are in essence giving them an extra 30 minutes to score an away goal, which pretty much counts as 2 goals, and only counts as 1 goal for the home side. You can argue the toss and say the home side have it easier because they are at home though, I just think its a stupid rule though. Why should it count as 2 goals essentially?
City flatter to deceive. In the CL you have to take your opportunities specially when Barca are missing so many chances. There were some chances but City lacked a cutting edge and to miss a penalty at such stage was unforgivable. City is a good team but honestly I cannot see how LVG is not looking to get all three points. That Burnley beat them was not due to chance.
Ben Fairthorne @BFairthorne Big news for Chelsea. Just been informed Bruce Buck meeting Mino Raiola this afternoon to discuss summer transfer of Pogba. 10:43 AM - 18 Mar 2015
That's what I'd do. I think the away goal rule is designed to make away teams go for it more in the away tie. Doesn't always work like that but I can see the logic. Having the away team benefit in extra time though is ridiculous. I know the home team gets an extra 30 minutes at home but they are meant to have that benefit from the fact it's always the top seed that plays at home second in the last 16. Pens is a fair and dramatic way to separate sides after 210 minutes, not poxy away goals scored in extra time!!
I think it's more to do with tactical naivity. Astonishingly for experienced managers like Mourinho and Wenger they were out thought by the PSG and Monaco managers. Pellegrini and Rodgers are simply out of their depth in the CL, the former because he's useless, the latter because he's inexperienced.
