Fair enough - you're right to have faith. And you may well be right. I just think that you are now competing with Brentford and Wolves for that final spot and, assuming Wolves beat you (which I think they probably will) that means you have to do better over the remaining 8 games than either of them. Definitely possible. If you beat Wolves then I would say you will be in the driving seat, so that really will be a crunch match, but there's definitely still plenty to play for
Well what a great thread this is Rob - you will not be top of the league after them fixtures! Yep we're fighting Wolves and Brentford AND possibly Derby County who are on one hell of a wobble right now! Long may it continue. 5 points off autos, still confident of making up the points total or looking impossible? You have a chance. Dreading our next fixture at Watford!!!! Horrible.
Hope so! We beat them 2-0 at home actually. Gotta have the faith. The fact Watford away is always a guaranteed loss for us sadly.
Fair point, though please do me the favour of reading my OP carefully: We definitely did not play like we did against Derby and I said top two. I actually think that's still achievable within three games, but it's a long shot and we now need to win all three, but if that's the case then we're actually three points from the autos (because one of those wins is v 'Boro), albeit that requires 'Boro to drop two points over the other two games and Bournemouth to drop three points over the three games. The bottom line is, though, for all the melt downs on here Watford's/'Boro's form won't last. Just like ours ended with Wigan. I think there are still a few more twists and turns to go with eight games to play because there are a few meetings between the top eight. It's far, far from over.
Are you still absolutely sure we won't be top two westy (which is what I actually said)? Bournemouth fail to beat Birmingham, admittedly unlikely but you never know, and Watford draw their next two and we could even be top. Not saying it will happen... But it's perfectly possible
convinced we can get top two. agree with others,i think us and bournemouth, watford are not good enough to last the course
At least we have our fate in our own hands again, thanks to that all important game against Boro later on.
Good call Rob. I do think that at this end of the season were seeing very few points dropped and so climbing the league has been difficult, for me this is going to cause Boro trouble. They only need to get a couple of point off the pace and the race for top 2 ends.
