When will Arsenal's annual meltdown happen?

I've always been very clear and consistent with my views on Wenger. He's a great manager, with a long and decorated history. He has his flaws, but show me a manager who doesn't.

I still maintain that if we'd sacked him when some Arsenal fans were first calling for his head, then we would have dropped out of the Top 4 and probably lost a host of top players with it.

We will have to replace him one day and I think Arsenal should be preparing for his successor, but there's absolutely no point getting rid of him unless we can bring somebody in who is better. I am totally against taking a 'punt' on somebody else simply because it's a change from Wenger. I think that would be extremely foolhardy

it depends on wether AW wants to stay longer and if trophies are won. If we win trophies then fans will want him to stay as will the board and hopefully so will AW.

If we don't win trophies or don't look like challenging for them then he will need to move on.

Speaking as an outsider, I agree with PISKIE, that it would be utter madness to get rid of Wenger simply for the sake of change, no matter how badly some fans might believe he's doing. So long as he keeps getting you top 4, stick with him.

Of course, as a Spurs fan, I'd love you to get rid of him, or to piss him off so much with negativity that he decides to call it quits.

I envy Arsenal the consistency that Wenger's longevity has brought to your club.

I think the bare minimum is Top 4 and an improvement from the year before. We've made some good signings (Sanchez and Ozil) and ideally we need to win the FA cup again. I think the club are moving in the right direction again. But we do need to mount a proper title bid next season.

Would last 16 in CL, fourth in league and another Cup win constitute a move in the right direction?

Why is Ozil so good now: is he playing in the correct position?? Jose got the best out if him, maybe you should sell him to us?

Yes, cause that's your weakness, not enough tippy tappy players behind the striker.

You two are agreeing more often lately and it's becoming rather unsettling!

I thought being friends with PISKIE would be impossible, but it's not. And that was before I discovered that he's a fellow musician!

You'd have liked their music thread on their board. I didn't recognise a single artist in it, but you guys would probably get as excited as some the gooners did. I have a school friend who is a DJ on Jazz fm and the music he gets excited about on Facebook sounds like a discordant cocophany to me, but real musicians will probably love it.

Have a look at the music thread on our board as SD suggests as Piskie puts loads of weird and wonderful artists on there.
me I am old school and still wish we had vinyl !
And when we wanted concert tickets we cut out the application form out of back of NME or MM and sent off a postal order! How times have changed

Shouldn't think there will be one.

They won't win the league so the pressure is off them - which means they'll keep picking up wins towards the end of the season.

I think it's best that we don't rake over all of that, again, mate.

Let's just agree that it's not necessarily me who believes in the shift.

I think it's probably safe to say then that nobody believes it <laugh>
