At half time yesterday were both teams the bottom 2? For any egg-chasing fans out there, is relegation back in this season? I'm sure I heard it was being reintroduced. Oh I do hope so..... Last time City were in the 2nd division the local media constantly harped on about 'worrying' attendances of 16k. It will be interesting to see how Hull FC's crowds get on without the 3k visiting fans from Leeds, Wigan etc.
The only teams to bring 3k in the last few years are HKR and Warrington (it was a one off when they could win the league with a victory), Leeds bring around 1,500, the rest very rarely bring 1000. As for relegation, its been reintroduced but its very unlikely, the way the system works makes it very hard for a SL team to go down.
I have never understood why support for Hull City ad Hull FC should be mutually exclusive. When I was a lad, I would happily go to the Boulevard if City weren't at home. I possessed both a black and amber and a black and white scarf. Football was my first love but it didn't mean I couldn't follow RL too. I know that ground sharing isn't ideal but it's no excuse for the antipathy often shown towards FC on this forum. Come on you 'Ull.
Ground-sharings got nowt to do with it, I just ****ing hate them and hope they finish bottom without another win all season. Rervers I have zero opinion on.
I really don't understand the attitude of some posters on here.I am a season pass holder at City and Rovers so obviously FC are no great favourites of mine but I still want them to do well as I do with any team from our area even in sports I have no interest in.
Every **** in my school and then continuing into my first jobs supported FC or Rervers and took the piss out of me for supporting bottom division City while they all without exception also supported some glorious top flight football team hundreds of miles from home despite continually referring to 'kiss' or 'nancy' ball. They took delight every Monday when we'd been stuffed by Torquay or some other nondescript football outpost - literally laughing in my face and cheering when they'd seen we'd lost - and they'd defeated the might of Batley, Featherstone or whatever 3 man ****ing town they played that week. I hope this clears things up for you.
The simple solution to this is to support City and Hull or HKR. If both win, you would feel doubly elated. If both lose, look for a local team that has won at ice hockey or rounders or scrabble. Result!
That speaks mo you obviously haven't been going to City that long then, anyone going since the 90's or before understands only too well where the hatred towards FC comes from
Exactly the same experience for me as well , used to get laughed at and ridiculed for supporting my local football team by rugby fans who all 'supported' Liverpool , Man U etc.
As far as I can tell it's only the desperate to be offended pc brigade types that have a chip on their shoulder about FC.
I don't know one true city fan, in real life, who doesn't think like this. We hate FC and their fans and will raise a glass to their demise. I remember been sat outside Jar in Hand with some of the lads, one of them a 72 year old die hard city fan, some dullers came in celebrating getting to Wembley. Now my mate had spent years being ridiculed by these idiots for following City. Over they pop, beers in hand buzzing, "isn't it great that both our teams have got to Wembley.....blah blah blah". The response from the old boys lips to these dullers was classic and obviously contained many expletives. Years of been ridiculed etc has fostered an intense hatred of all things Dull FC. If you can't see this then you're a bit of an idiot aren't you. What should we all do, wear flowers in our hair and love everyone and celebrate the achievements of all teams from Hull, regardless of whether or not they have ridiculed us for year? Forgive and forget eh? Get a grip lad.
