I have bored the pants off you lot for weeks leading up to this day and what a great days racing it is after todays modest fare. A classy looking Triumph, an intrigueing Gold Cup, a wide open Foxhunter and then the final Festival ride of the greatest jump jockey we have ever seen! Good luck AP.
1:30 BELTOR of course. Tipped him on his debut, tipped him on his second outing and tipped him for this when he was 50-1. He showed pure class at Kempton, he pulled the jockeys arms out for 14 furlongs and then when he gave him an inch of rein he eased his way clear from a very good field. The strong pace tomorrow will suit him even better, the rain will not inconvenience him and he will outrun them up the hill. I am super confident about this fella tomorrow. Its an immense day for a small yard like this but the run of Modus in the bumper showed that they are up to it! I am sure you will all be delighted for me WHEN he wins!
2:05 Two horses have profiles that interest me for this so I shall have a bit on both. MODEM ran a belter in the BoyleSports and has an obvious chance at what looks to me to be generous odds. FORCED FAMILY FUN (50-1) is worth an ew saver after a fair performance in the Betfair Hurdle where he would have been closer but for a mistake at a crucial stage.
2:40 VALUE AT RISK I know the owner as he had a horse at Longsdons and this gorgeous beast was bred by him. He has always had stayer stamped on his backside and whilst this wasn't the first choice of race at the start of the year it has become apparent that he needs a trip. He travels beautifully through his race, he has an engine and the heart to go with it. He is going to be a top class chaser in time, mark my words but for now I hope he can get a Festival Hurdle win under his belt.
3:20 I hope for my good friend that DJAKADAM wins this, if he does maybe he can buy some decent racing clobber!
4:00 Wow what a Foxhunter, it has everything. Quality Irish runners, quality UK pro trained horses and an incredibly good couple of Amateur trained horses. I am amazed at how good CURRENT EVENT has become, who would have ever thought that Mrs Rose Loxton could do a better job than Paul Nicholls! I think this is going to be a classic with four or five of the leading protagonists fighting out the finish.
4:40 NOBLE ENDEAVOUR, very keen on this Gordon Elliott 20-1 shot. A cosy winner over this trip at Punchestown in January they then put him away for this. I will be surprised if he isn't in the shake up.
5;15 and enter stage right Anthony Peter McCoy. If there is any justice in this game he will win this race on NED BUNTLINE and there will surely not be a dry eye in the house. The horse has had the classic prep and he could not be in better hands. I am sure Tony Martin will barely turn a hair if he is the one to spoil the party and for me his TED VEALE could provide the sternest opposition.
Guys, I would just like to say that I have had a brilliant Festival. I have loved hearing about all your successes. I hope I didn't put any of you off anything that you fancied.
Good luck to you all again as always tomorrow!
