With all the recent specualtion about Gyan and despite the club denying it they are still rife, spare a thought for the player himself and put yourself in his shoes.

Maybe at the end of last season he was a bit down (weren't we all) at the collapse of the team for 3 months. He was left exposed on his own up front for much of the last 15 to 20 games and he probably began to think to himself this is not what I signed up to. He maybe did have some discussions with his agent and said he wasnt entirely happy? We do it at our work dont we.

However, this summer, the club have really pushed the boat out and brought in some quality players to fill the squad and make us more competitive and with another striker still high on SB's shopping list, I think he may be having less negative thoughts and more positive ones. Thats why his agent is still on May's thinking and Gyan out in Africa is on June's now?

Say if we did bring in N'Zog (or simialr wide player) and a striker of the calibre of Crouch, Defoe or Pavluychenko (or this Pavel lad from Germany), then what current player worth his salt wouldnt want to be apart of it all. We have addressed all the questions bar 1 or 2 that we posed as fans in May and as players, we now have a really strong squad.

I dont think Gyan will want to miss out on thatDo you? Even if it's only for one more season to see how it goes.
 
Don't know what he may be thinking.

He states he is happy, but in football never say never.

If a bigger club came in for him, and offered him more money, i'm sure he would consider it, any player would.

Seems like he's here to stay for now, but the clubs and his will to stay will be tested IF a serious offer came in. But until it does, we have no reason to worry.

A good start to the season by him, may well see some clubs interested in Jan. But for now, seems he is happy and concentrating on SAFC.
 
If we can get off to a good start and goals flowing then why would he leave.

If the team are performing and competing, we will keep players happy IMO.
 
Reckon he'll stay now. The whole problem was some backroom issues that are obviously now resolved. We've got him for at least the coming season <ok>

I truly hope you are right mate, but I can't help feeling that there is something going on with his agent and all.
 
The way to keep Gyan or anyone useful at the club, we need to be successful. If we are challenging for cups and (dare I say it?) Europe, what attraction will the likes of Villa, Everton, Fulham hold?

The next level up - Manure, Man City, Chelski, well, we can't compete today and probably for a few years - if we are lucky.

What am sayin is Gyan won't go if we are winning, unless its a big club here or in Europe that come in for him. Sadly its the nature of the beast.
