Starting and finishing tough but with more winnable games in-between, can we haul back the lost ground over the last month and finish strongly?

How many points might we need to finish in the top 4? How many points do you think we'll get?

Hard to say but I reckon 5/6 wins for top 6, or 7/8 wins for top 4 - safe to say that's not gonna happen but think top 6 is definitely achievable though. A point on Sunday would be a good start.

Or let's win to get ahead of our target :)

Or that, I like that. <ok>

The good thing about Sundays game though is it's sort of a free hit, as we're not expecting anything. After Sunday though, our next 5 are:

Burnley (H)
Everton (A)
Hull (H)
Stoke (A)
Spurs (H)

Think we'll know a lot more after that lot, **** me that Spurs game could be massive by then...

As a member of the Eternal Optimists Club I predict 30 points.

I did think at one point, not long ago, that we would exceed last season's total by the end of February. Now, we can't even do it by the end of March, but I would be very happy if we could achieve it by Easter Sunday.

Obviously we need to start clicking up top. Right now going on a good run seems a million miles away but if we start picking up the points against the lower teams again, a few games down the line, we might change our tune. As we saw earlier in the season, confidence and momentum are everything.

Exactly flt, it's the first game in god knows how long that we can approach under no pressure whatsoever, and them losing last night puts them under even more pressure as well - Another United away performance would go down a treat.

Chelsea will be interesting for sure. Last night showed that if you really pressure them all over the pitch, they can't cope. Central defence is a problem for them. Terry looks knackered and Cahill is always good for a critical mistake. I think Pelle can unsettle them if he really works them hard.

However, Chelsea have been the best team in the league this season so basically its a question of which Chelsea will turn up.

With steel in our legs from the skiing trip (!) who knows. We know we are difficult to score against and it would be easy to imagine a Mane breakaway.

We just need to take 1 game at a time and see what happens. I'm just delighted we've still got something to play for. It's a bit dull when you're stuck in mid table at this stage and no chance of relegation or Europe. The last month or 2 last season were so boring. This time everyone is going to be pumped up for each and every game.

I actually agree, playing Chelsea when you're on a run puts pressure on us. ATM nobody expects anything. Chelsea have a weight of expectation on them, if we bother them from the start we could get something. Long to start!

Draw Spurs, lose City and Chelsea and win rest. 6/10 teams are bottom half. Other top half team is Stoke which will be tough. Think we got more chance against Spurs than Stoke, so beat bottom 6 and Spurs. Our defence will be solid - need lots of 1-0 wins.

Think its about time we beat Spurs. Typical that it's them that are the only team we haven't beaten (or even taken a point off) since our most recent promotion. Possibly our last chance to rub Poch's face in it, before he's poached or sacked.

I remember Villa away towards the end of last season, 0-0 and one of the dullest games Ive watched.

Definitely a more exciting run in this time around. Good to see a few mid table teams in our remaining fixtures - tend to be the easier matches around this time of the season.
