The top 6

Burton - still to play Southend, Wycombe, Luton
Shrewsbury - still to play Wycombe, Bury
Wycombe - still to play Shrewsbury, Burton, Luton

Luton - still to play Wycombe, Burton, Southend
Bury - still to play Southend, Shrewsbury

Shrewsbury and Bury only have to play two of the top 6
Based on current league positions of their opponents Burton, Wycombe and Luton have the toughest run-ins while Shrewsbury have the easiest.

Having said that, Cambridge, Oxford, Morecambe all managed to take points off the top 6 yesterday - no easy games down the stretch.

Suppose Wycombe lose those 3 games
When the other top teams play each other they will either gain 3 points at the expense of one of the others or both drop 2 points. I don't know when they do play each other but could be some interesting/complicated sums to do at some stage. Hopefully we don't get to a point where it becomes irrelevant following a series of unwelcome results

The 8 matches where the top 6 meet are as follows -
March 14 - Wycombe v Shrewsbury
March 18 - Burton v Southend
March 24 - Luton v Wycombe
March 28 - Bury v Southend
April 6 - Burton v Wycombe
April 11 - Luton v Burton
April 14 - Bury v Shrewsbury
April 25 - Southend v Luton (penultimate round of matches)

At the moment another 29 points (out of a max 33) guarantees promotion

You shouldn't be worrying what Shrewsbury or Burton are doing you should be looking downwards at who is 4th and what they may or may not be doing. You have a 5 point advantage so that's 2 more games. That takes it down to best of 9 not 11. You went through your stutter and now seem to be over it and gaining points again. I wouldn't get too worried just yet.

That's how i look at it plus the fact we have a much better goal difference than all the teams below us. The Way results have gone for all teams challengeing for promotion this season we're all going to drop points when not expected to. Shrewsbury may have the easier run in but their injury problems are a problem for them, Luton are poor away and Southend are not good enough to win more games than us before the ends of the season as they drop points to teams in the bottom half. If we keep winning or drawing nobody will catch us.

I forsee a lot of highs and lows in the coming weeks. Unexpected wins and some losses where we just should have secured the points.
I know we have kept our third place at present, but i dont feel that we are dominating games quite like we were earlier in the season. Reading the reports on Josh from a lot of the Barnsley fans, i think this explains quite a lot. Seems like they see him as too good for them and league 1, so it just goes to show what we are truly missing.
All said, it was the right decision financially for both the club and the player so i dont lay any blame for the transfer and hope he does truly go on and make himself a really good living out of the game

With 11 games left I think 6 wins would easily do it. Importantly, we have to make sure we don't lose against shrewsbury, luton and burton. 3 points at at least one of those, especially luton, would be huge. However this league is too hard to predict and perhaps morcambe at home or something will prove to be our toughest test

No it won't mowgli. You are still looking upwards when you should be looking down. You need Burton to beat Southend. As long as you have more points than the 4th placed team at the end is all that matters. Once you guarantee that then you can look up. You people need to believe although being an Argyle supporter I can understand years of disappoinment and waiting for the sword to fall.

I agree with sensible greeny Burton to beat Southend then, Southend to beat Bury, with a real bit of luck Southend & Luton to draw. While we keep picking up points

As long as I have any money left I'm going to keep betting against Wycombe <laugh>

Well that's all an improvement at least. Most of league 2 expected you lot to disappear into the Conference this season which in fairness was reasonable but you have confounded that so far and it definately isn't happening. You just have to confound them completely by going the other way. Result times plenty.

My son was telling me it is now impossible for us to get relegated & he was correct after saturday Tranmere can only get 64pts & we have 67

That's how quickly things can change. Last time I looked I thought Bury were losing :steam:.
Too bloody close for comfort.

No!. Just looked and Bury scored in the 90th min :steam: - and with 10 men
