Sterling was industrious today, finishing not so great, he was everywhere especially after we went 2 1 up, even at right back to cover runs
Barging Kompany off the ball<laugh>
 
Restricting City and specifically Aguero to 0 shots on target <ok>

Midfield and defence have to be pretty pleased with that.
 
Lallana also much improved today, Lovren too. Can is a great signing and Cout, what can I say, if he keeps going like this we might have a problem hanging on to him

Nope. Chavski. Okay... let me put it again, if it was a pool, everton, man u, chelsea, arsenal player they'd have gone down. I guess what i'm saying is fair play to Aguero, one of the few players not to cheat
 
Right, now we have to go and beat Burnley. Will mean **** all if we drop points midweek.

It's easy after a Thursday to get up and be ready for a big game like this, adrenaline will pull you through but need to be playing at that same intensity on Wednesday.

I don't think Skrtel touched him, I think he went for it and realised and pulled out just in time.
 
Best performance this season second half especially. Thought team looked lightweight before the game but Henderson and allen really made yaya look ****.

Mingolet -6. Looked a bit shaky early on but commanded area well after that. Nothing else to do.

Can -8 back on form. Got stronger longer game went on
Skertel -8 solid all the way through
Lovren -7 looks more like the player we signed. Won some good headers.

Markovic-5 mmmm missed Ibe which says it all.
Henderson -8 incredible strike and work rate.
Allen-8 kept it tidy, worked hard and made countless interceptions
Lallana -8 showing why we paid so much for him. Works tirelessly.
Moreno -7 getting better defensively and gives us much needed width.
Courthino -10. Unbelievable performance. Unbelievable goal..again.

Sterling- 7 lacks final ball/touch but works so hard.

Sturridge -6 missed the chance to wrap it up
Toure -6 kept it solid at the back

Don't know what happened Thursday but this was us playing like last season
 
Sterling is claiming 2 assists today for 2 5 yard square passes <laugh>
 
Magnificent stuff,deserved it on the second half performance.
Still pressing and closing right to the end (after Thursday aswell)
Couts just unplayable at the mo,always in space,always dangerous. Good team performance overall though.

Really good run this, as said above though - need to keep grounded and work as hard as that vs Burnley
 
Honestly, Allen absolutely bossed Toure today, completely proved me wrong. I know people see him as an average squad player, but if he can consistently perform like that he's in with a great shout of pushing for a first team place.
