The flawed genius was given an ultimatum before the season that a top 3 finish was the minimum requirement by Woodward(on behalf of the Glazers), now the tail is wagging the dog.

"The United boss said it was 'a rat race between five clubs', that finishing in top four was 'objective from start of season' but that it was a three year project."

    The latest Van Gaal #meltdown

"We have discussed in the last press conference, you have said it, not I, from the last 15 matches, that we have had the best result. I don't say that, but now I am reading that I have said, no, I have answered yes, I know, because I know that, you are writing that. But when you are writing the other way around, you are not being fair because you are pushing that we were the best, you have made comment on that."

He honestly hasn't got a ****ing clue what he's saying

Just like he claimed to have never said anything about the ref

"But now, when you look at the scores of the last 15 or 20 matches, we are the best team in the Premier League so I think the confidence is also high."

That's a bit more than "yes" Louis

**** me, now Van Gaal has said Man Utd can't expect to beat a team like Sunderland

    If this was Moyes....

"Of course. When you start the season with objective of finishing in the first four of the league you are occupied with doing that.
"But we are still there, I don't know why are we talking about when we are still there. What is the problem?"

    <laugh>

'Do you need to beat Sunderland?', he's asked.
"Not because of this game, because I want to mention that last year Sunderland has won everything against Manchester United. They have lost also a league cup match, but after penalties they have beaten, so you have lose also."

They are only 8 points behind City and still have to play them?, yet he's already conceded 2nd to them.

"But money is no guarantee of success, so now the scrap is on with Arsenal, Southampton, Liverpool and Tottenham for those coveted Champions League slots, two of which are already taken by Chelsea and Manchester City."

Last season Moyes got ripped for praising City, shows how he's got the fans eating out of his hand.

The adoring hacks at his pressers don't ever pull him up when he talks bollocks and defeatist is that down to fear or giving him more rope to hang himself?

To be fair to the journalists, they probably have a hard time knowing what the **** he is ranting on about.
Its not until you read it later that you think "Eh?"

I reckon the moody as **** look on his grid and the memories of the ban hammer put on journos by Ferguson makes them afraid to ask him what he's really talking about, he sounds like Professor Bunsen from the Muppets at times.
