13 games and 39 points left up for grabs this season, and so far we've managed 41 from a possible 99 - that's 1.24 per game. Where is this all going to end up? I don't want to go on a match by match breakdown, but looking at the fixtures left, what do you think we should finish with? I'll go for a decent above average run for the rest of the season and say we can push that towards 1.5 per game for the ones to come. That means we'll get something like another 19 points to finish on 60 - any other ideas? (just trying to keep the forum active guys)
Finish on 60 ? I'd take that Sparks considering the mess we were left by OGS. I for one got that guy wrong, thought he could have been a good manager for us. When Slade came in there was only one thing he could do, cut the wage bill there was no chance of promotion. Not a fan of his playing style as yet but I'll still give him a chance, his players seem to have more energy but less style.
Sparks, if your scenario comes to bear we may still have Slade next season. Personally, I think we'll be safe but not safe enough for Slade to be manager next season. Well I hope Slade isn't our manager much longer but feel VT will persist with him
I would prefer to predict a range rather than a specific tally. That being the case I will go for 55 - 60. I see wins v. Birmingham, Millwall and Blackpool at home and a sneaky away win at Rotherham. Draws v. Charlton, Reading and Bolton. That's 15 points and gets us to 56. Anything else will be a bonus - draws with Wolves, Bournemouth (as long as they continue to forget where the net is) and Leeds are not out of the question but I wouldn't bet on them. However, another 6 defeats would be hard to stomach and may well see the completion of Slade's P.45
The way this season has gone I'd be more than happy with 55 points. Of course we should have got at least 85 points with the squad we had in August.
