Fair play another classic <laugh>. he did what any striker would do , work their defence which he did , he came looking for the ball and defended deep when he had to and for the majority of his appearance when the team were down to 10 men .

His performance was very reminiscent of his first half season at Swansea, when we were so used to the more athletic Michu that we seemed to have no clue how to use Bony. Only after Christmas, when we realised where Bony's strengths were, did we finally start utilising him and, as a result, he started scoring truckloads. Bony has never been a runner or a chaser. He's a hold up play specialist, loves an early cross to get on the end of and, most of all, he requires his teammates to completely trust him to not lose the ball. Too often, Man City looked for the more simple passes rather than firing it into the feet/chest of Bony - it's going to take time for them to trust him, especially because Jovetic and Dzeko can't hold the ball up with the same strength. He's a new breed of striker for City that they haven't had before. You can't expect him to run the channels and chase the ball like Dzeko, that's never been his game.

Initially, I thought that Bony was going to walk in there and start scoring. But, seeing him against Newcastle and now against Barcelona reminds me that, actually, Bony is a player that really relies on his teammates to feed him the ball. I'm now beginning to fear that the bigger egos at City either won't realise that, or just are too stuck up to give him the ball instead of Aguero.

He injured his foot kicking a team mate when attempting to shoot. Noticeable limp for quite a while after. No service, reluctance to pass to him and playing the same channel as other centre forward. Not sure he could have done any different.

Barcelona's passing in the first half (when they scored 2 goals) was like watching the Swans of yesteryear

of course ...we all want bony to do well and all i am saying is he never did himself justice and looked way off the pace and as it happens that was said on talk sport when they talked about the game. he should not have been out muscled like he was and show no pace like he did even if it was his first game. <ok>

If he's not glued to the bench, I think he'll do well, as long as some of the egos give him a chance............<ok>

He's had less than an hour's playing time and some already knocking him. Pitiful.

Can i help it if i happen to agree that he was out of his comfort zone of being a big fish with our mediocre players and was found wanting with the big players. I only made an obvious but fair and accurate observation that many have commented on the radio today. Im not going to say he shone if he didn't am I but i wanted him to do himself proud. I fear he may not get another chance with the better players on their books....

but he was not out muscled he won two good freekicks on their half with his back turned to goal, ok he had a couple of stray passes and a bad shot but in no way was he crap. Show no pace?? Argh! What do you actually mean? He's explosive as hell and is in and around the box (drops deeper when it's 10 vs 11 against barcelona...) Ibra is not as fast as theo, that doesn't make him crap.

Haven't you twigged yet? He was a Laudrup purchase and is automatically slow, lazy and all round rubbish. Did nothing for us and it's just as well he's gone.
