I have never said that it should be November or December either, however June is not ideal due to the heat either. Whatever the solution now there are going to be big problems!!

I didn't say you did. I was arguing with PL moaning about other people only moaning about the Euro leagues being effected. When he is very very wrong.

Haven't a clue how stopping mid season and flying over to Qatar, can make a player fitter. Just means the second half of the season is going to be ****.

Could benefit the smaller teams who have fewer players away...However, I doubt television is going to stand for this - Christmas fixtures are highly popular and lucrative!

At what point does FIFA move the games from Qatar? Surely with the obvious corruption, and now this, they must be getting very close to a mutiny from clubs and fans alike. Revolt! Rebel! Takeover!

Fifa will never move games from Qatar. That would be admitting they made a mistake. Blatter is never wrong. The main issue for me is that the bid was for games to be held in summer. All countries bid knowing that. Fifa knew the climate in each bidding country. Once Qatar "won" they started looking to move the games to winter. It is obvious that they rigged it for Qatar to win. They did not want to have a real bid for a winter game. That would have caused too many problems prior to the "vote". Easier to have the problems after when they have many years to deal with it. That is the reason they had the 2018 and 2022 bids at the same time in my opinion.

It's too hot to play in Qatar in the Summer so let's move the World Cup to the Winter.

Wait, now it clashes with the African Cup of Nations ... let's move that to the Summer.

To be fair, it's actually a common misconception that the equator provides the hottest parts of the world. Countries that lie along the tropics of Cancer and Capricorn are actually much hotter due to the lack of cloud coverage IIRC.

There are 2 choices 1) comply and start working now for damage limitation or 2) go rebel and opt for EUFA being separate from FIFA. I can't see the 2nd option as would require cooperation between main European leagues and EUFA and would cause problems with every non-European player here. I think option 1 is the best with longer term discussions of preventing this ever happening again.

Damage limitation planning has to start immediately as it will affect several seasons.

Another question is do the Championship, League 1 and 2 carry on as usual. They may lose a few international players, but it may be worth it to them rather than shift all their fixtures.

Changing the competition from Summer to winter is bullshit, but the biggest disgrace to the whole Qatar world cup saga is the mistreatment of migrant workers which is not much better than slave labour. I read that a worker dies at a rate of 1 every 2 days. The FA and other Football associations around the world should be ashamed of themselves if they let this continue.

Following on from what Viking Saint said, here's the statistics on the number of reported deaths for recent/future World Cups/Olympics.

Migrant workers are treated absolutely disgracefully in the UAE.

You are absolutely right...should have been seriously challenged. Not just have a meeting and agree on something which is practically nothing. The WC has brought to the fore the dreadful treatment of foreign nationals in the UAE which is actually racism. You cannot leave the country without permission of your employer even if they have stopped paying you...this has caught out some Brits, although their treatment isn't as appalling as some.

It's debt bondage, about as near to slavery as you can get, Fran. The Chinese are the best at it. Most of the products and businesses that were made in this country and now shipped to China by greedy owners are produced in this way. People work, eat and live in the Factory in dormitories they can never escape from.
