To be honest I thought it was all quite chilled and good humoured, until thai turned up trying to make an issue and cause an argument today. but then, I expected you to take the stance you have.
I still feel that had the Heysul disaster never happened, Norwich would have won major silverware. It can never be proven but we had our best side during that era and given consistent European campaigns which we'd have had, it could have lead to big things. But that's no sleight against us, that's just bad luck. But because we didn't win something doesn't somehow make us less worthy somehow, or put us in their 'shadow' as they like to say. It just means they got the lucky breaks and we didn't. It's not like they're Manchester United and won multiple honours. They've won three things in nigh on 100 years. Norwich have won two. As I said before, ask anyone under 30 about who is the bigger club, Norwich or Ipswich, and the majority would say Norwich because they are the team who have remained in the media spotlight more frequently. Its irrelevant that we didn't win the league or whatever (even though we did win a league cup which is major silverware - never quite grasped why this isn't considered a major trophy - it is by everyone else). We often get accused of having a chip on our shoulder, and perhaps older fans do, I don't know. But I can assure any Ipswich fan that I don't - in my opinion most Ipswich fans would feel rather jealous of us over the last decade. They've been a shambles and are still trying to rectify it. We've been on a roller coaster.
Rumour has it we've a very tidy player arriving today in Anthony Knockaert from Leciester. If true I'm a little more confident!
Are you trying to say that I ruined everything by asking you to piss off and attend to your own board before drowning us with your drivel on here? Well I am sorry, I thought fans of a specific team placed more of a focus on their own club at the start of the day, then moved on to 'other' matters. You are once and for all exposed and truly obsessed with at least the Norwich board, if not the team
so supers, you want take claim for promotins, yet not for relegations? that's seems a little picky and chosey to me? I deem success as what has been achieved against every club, not against just you. you view seems a bit obsessive towards us. does anybody really remember losing semi finalists?
You do talk bollox Supers! Best you take those Green and Yella specs off from time to time! The bit where you say that we got the lucky breaks and you didn't just proves how bitter you are!
You cannot go ahead for the TWELFTH old farm derby in a row, surely? it's our turn to take the lead! Well, they would have heard about this lad in the coming days
Eh? Relegation happens - so what? Best thing that happened to my club for years was being relegated as it brought about a sea change in mentality. One step backwards etc. Its not like any Norwich fan ignores relegation - we are quite pleased it happened. It's not like Ipswich haven't been relegated. Anyway, as I have both you and Warky on ignore I probably should stop clicking 'show ignored content' and replying to you! My enjoyment of this forum has increased tenfold since using the ignore button on you two and your drivel so I shall bid you farewell.
I can honestly say, hand on heart that I am not jealous of Ipswich Town Football Club's past whatsoever, I totally respect what they have done in the past but that's as far as it goes. What I can tell you is that my hatred towards Ipswich Town is as passionate as my love for Norwich City, I despise the Town, the club, it's fans in fact everything about the place. ......still can't find my fishing rod
Indeed, the best thing to happen to us IMO. Didn't seem it at the time but after that it has been pretty good, ok up's and down's but at least it has been exciting. Can Ipswich fans say the same? Nope. Yawn. Your signature on your posts sums Ipswich up nicely to be honest. That's what virtually the whole country thinks of Ipswich. Well, those under the age of 35 I would say.
but you are going on about how 'successful' yet in your time frame we have only been relegated twice, yet you have been relegated what 4/5 times. yet that all becomes immaterial? how does that work? anybody got any cake, supers will definitely eat it for you!
This talk of success is all very odd. My day to day work is in performance sport - Winning things etc. so maybe have a lot more black & white view on things. Whether it was yesterday, 10 years ago or 50 years ago. Winning is winning and that is what athletes (sportspeople) are measured on. Sebastian Coe won a gold in Moscow 1980.. does his achievement rank less than Jess Ennis because it was more recent. I accept the comparison is not as clear cut across sport. But in my view - Sport is about winning. (whether you win or not, in my line of work determines how much money you get.) Back to the weekend, As I've said for a while we tend to be better suited to playing away from home so I'm strangely more confident as it's at your place.
