whats the point in talking to a leeds fan.

all you get from them is a couple of grunts, do you want some, a few more grunts, and the sound of knuckles dragging on the floor!

No, just fed up with constant visits. if I wanted to read what Ipswich fans have to say every day of the week, I would visit your board. No, scrub that, I would go to TWTD, where Towns fans actually post every day

It's an age thing - as it is with anything I suppose. My generation (I'm nearly 34 so hardly a nipper) do not see Ipswich Town as anything other than a second rate, second tier club. I'm not simply talking from a Norwich City fans point of view either. Ask fans of any club who are 30ish or below about East Anglian football and they will say 'Norwich' before 'Ipswich'.

Ipswich clearly had a very successful side once upon a time - my old man has told me all about it as he was there through it all - but it has no influence over me or my generation, just as I don't see Forest, Leeds, Villa etc as successful clubs, though people only ten years my elder might. My granddad said Wolves were the biggest club in the country when he was going - it almost sounds inconceivable today. Norwich, in my lifetime have been more successful than Ipswich, so that is what influences me and how I perceive my club compared to Ipswich and others. We've spent far more time in the top flight during my lifetime. If you are old enough as an Ipswich fan to recall 'the good old days' then you must be very grateful because lets face it, it won't happen again. You're lucky that you had Bobby Robson, a truly great manager and person. You had that stroke of luck that we didn't.

But please don't keep reeling out the same old crap about winning stuff. I once had an argument with a 19 year old Ipswich fan who claimed I'd 'never understand what it feels like to win a major trophy.' He's right - I possibly won't - but neither will he. So what's the difference? Fact is, I don't care. I've not missed out on anything that any Ipswich fan my age hasn't too. And as I didn't live through the 70s, I feel no anger, disappointment or jealousy towards Ipswich being successful in that era. Football was a different beast back then. Burnley won the league. It could never happen again and that's a shame I suppose.

Success is defined by what league you are playing in , beating Arsenal Man U Spurs and Man city puts our little club on the World stage with millions of people all over the World tuning in .

Well I personally have seen (too young for the League Cup win so irrelevant to me) us win promotion to the top flight 3 times, win League One, challenge for the top flight title three times, reach two FA Cup semi finals and compete in the top flight during 14 seasons.

During this time, Ipswich have won promotion twice, competed for the Champions League once and competed for 5 seasons in the top flight.

That's quite a big gulf in my opinion. We've had huge ups and downs, more so (in both direction) than Ipswich, but they are nothing more than a second division side to me and probably always will be viewed that way. We've won many more derbies during my lifetime too and again, that shapes my perception. You can't really argue with me on this either, because this is my own view from living my own life. As an example, you might see Leeds as a big club because they were good in your lifetime (I don't know how old you are) whereas I see Leeds as a club who sail from one disaster to another.

Same for me Supers, I'm also 34 and I don't have any memories of Ipswich being this "super" club that they talk about.

All I remember is a club that constantly treads water in the Championship and occasional flirts with promotion and relegation but does neither. This may change one day, maybe even this season but I for one doubt it as there is no depth of squad as the owner wont invest.

All Ipswich represent to me are a middle of the table, championship club with no ambition to be anything else. Something that is reflected in recent times by their poor attendance.

I bet it was great 30 years ago or whatever it was, but since I've been 17 or so Ipswich have done very little.

The thing that gets me is when I hear "you win the things we won and then we can talk about success" what a load of old tripe. The world and football has changed dramatically, we have next to no chance of winning the premier league or even a cup. As things stand in my lifetime we have had much more success though and more to cheer about than Ipswich.

you forgot number 9 - try to talk to Norwich fans but they are too precious about an open forum where any clubs fan can post on any clubs board, obviously without throwing insults at them.

In the 70s and 80s Gary Glitter Saville and Butlins holiday camps were succesful, they have nor relevance in 2015 much like Ipswich Town Football club.
