Even Ireland managed a win against the Windies. Admittedly we have played the 2 home nations in first 2 games which is unlucky but still put up 0 fight.

Anyone reckon Cook is laughing his head off right now?

    Is that some Liverpool-style leaning?

Did anyone else see Chris Gayle's innings the other night? ****ing brutal, but very effective. It was more like baseball batting. Can't knock it, but it wasn't Gower or Cowdrey (Colin).

look when it sticks it sticks.

My opinion is that the art of bowling is only a few years away from being lost.

Didn't stuart broad as a younger bower go for six sixes off an over?

you can't bowl outside of very tight lines and heights and are completely hamstrung. So any batsman hwo can see the ball onto his bat can swing away and probably knock up a score unitl he finally edges one of times it wrong enough to pop up a catch.

I just don't feel like watching that sort of stuff any more. 20/20 can be very dull indeed for me cos it really is not about shot selection of having to actually watch the ball its about slugging.... this world cup has quite a bit of the slugging about it.

Games seem to be getting decided by who lucks ou a bit when wickets fall or who does stupid things.

when lance Kluesner turn up for SA with his big homemade bats it was intersting... when everyon is slugging it it gets old.

Its like these flipper shows. there's men back now rather than slips cos all and sundry are trying it while there's acres to play cover drives or even play square

I am sick of that kind of poor play when a real class act can make time and make a real shot.

Was one hell of a knock. He was nearly out for a duck as well, lbw Neely overturned but was down to umpires call!

Scotland threw away a win earlier against Afghanistan it seems. 90 odd for 7 and lost by 1 wicket in the end.

Im still sceptical about our chances of progressing, bangladesh's rained off game c Australia has put them on the driving seat now. We need to beat them and Afghanistan and probably Sri Lanka as well

He was just about still playing when I was a kid growing up. I remember watching a test match once with my Dad. In one of the breaks (could have been rain), they showed an innings by Cowdrey. He was a fat bastard who looked so unathletic it wasn't true. My Dad remembered the innings and asked me to watch the next shot carefully. It was an extra cover drive. I've never seen a shot like it before or since. Cowdrey simply lent into it, and the next second, it clattered into the advertising boards. It took about a second to get there and he hardly touched it. Still makes the hairs on the back o f my neck stand up when I think about it. Sublime.
