All about Barbers Shop’s little half-brother for me, MAESTRO ROYAL, who has his 2nd run over hurdles tomorrow in the card commencer at Warwick (2.10). My regular readers were Ebullient with a capital ‘E’ after he won on debut but I doubt if we will see any of that 9/2 about him of the morrow, troops!
Last month Mr Henderson’s charge did it very nicely as he quickened away very impressively from an above average sort and you can guarantee that since that victory the great man’s brilliant brain and ‘magic hands’ will have improved Maestro Royal significantly. Given he is a half-bro to the legendary Barbers Shop the step up in trip (by 2.5 furlongs) should also benefit the horse and he is the Geraghty lads only booked ride of the day. The likes of Delightful Delores, what a lovely name for a mare by the way, and Ballyboley are worthy opponents but I’d be surprised if Maestro Royal didn’t retain his unbeaten record over timber.
Tomorrow’s race is a qualifier for the EBF Final run at Sandown Park, on the Saturday before the Cheltenham Festival, and I guess that is the long term plan for the old boy should everything go according to plan in just over 24 hours time.
Good luck all.
