Still not convinced about Bruce as a manager (tactics, motivation etc but different debate for a different time) but ****ing hell, can he bring in quality players and at the prices quoted he's got absolute bargains.

For ****s sake the club must be doing a good job, we're getting mentioned by the Cockney media in a positive light.

Not since the Reid, Quinn and Phillips era have I've ever looked forward to the start of a new season so much.

I think this squad now comfortably surpasses the Quinn/Phillips era.

Some people understandably questioned where we were going when Jordan left. I think our transfer dealings since that point have vindicated that difficult decision

Got to take issue with this mate. As good as the signings are, until we have a Summerbee/Johnston winger partnership and a Quinn/SKP one up front you cant say that. Gyan and whoever we have currently isn't that. Larsson and whoever isn't either.

Now, Chuck Charlie Boy on the other wing and Defoe or another top striker into the equation by August and yes, I may agree then but not as it is at the moment. IMHO of course?

Agreed, still a couple of signings short of the best team that the Reid era could put out, but just a little short though. Still exciting times.

Agreed that we still need a winger and another Striker before I start getting confident of a good season. I wouldn't be to bothered about a couple of loanees but also think we need to get rid of quite a few as well to balance the books.

first few games after christmas is still going have some well puckered sphincters imo, as i said before, all i want this season is good derby performances, no mid season slump and top 10 finish. wish we had more time for all the new faces to gel before the mags aswell, although they should be in a similar position without nolan

Not proven, will our strikers contribute as many goals?
