Gerrard has dived for free kicks and pens, he doesn't have to deny or confirm it as its plain to see, just as Rooney's dive was crystal clear, the problem stems that Hodgson and Neville openly came out with an excuse that's so untrue its laughable, one because he's friends with him and the other being his international boss, if he wasn't English and England captain the likes of Hodgson would have put the knife in guaranteed.
Impossible I know, but I'd like to see cheating eradicated from the game- regardless of the perpetrator. The justification of it because "winning at all costs is acceptable", really pisses me off, tbh.As if you would if it was Stevie Me![]()
I know this would be wrong but if I was with that black guy I may very well have lumped that fat fcker at the front. You can understand how situations develop. I guess the black guy needs to be commended for staying cool there.

Some people can see past their partisanship, others can't.Impossible I know, but I'd like to see cheating eradicated from the game- regardless of the perpetrator. The justification of it because "winning at all costs is acceptable", really pisses me off, tbh.
In fact it's one of the big reasons I hate watching CL on ITV. Andy Townsend is the biggest bias prick at it. Even last night. Although tbf he has a genuine dislike of United so that could also be why I cant stand the knob![]()

All teams do it but I'm resigned to the fact pandora's box is well and truly opened when it comes to diving.
The other problem is what is diving? There are so many interpretations. Most associate with conning the ref when no foul is committed to gain an unfair advantage. But it's not as simple as that. It's easy to suggest, lets red card them and they'll soon stop. But most rational ppl are saying that regardless of Rooney's theatrics, the pen was a fair decision so he wouldnt have got the red anyway. And in other scenarios a player may go down folliwing a foul bcos he knows if he doesnt he wont get the foul given. What do you do there? Like I said I think it's something that is out there now and I cant see it changing any time soon bcos it's not so simple to deal with.
Players willing to cheat to gain an advantage will always be there. Most fans seem to not mind their own doing it or even deny they do it but are against opposition doing it. Double standards, surely notAll teams do it but I'm resigned to the fact pandora's box is well and truly opened when it comes to diving.

To be fair, debate's not your strongest suit. Its not even a debate. Being taken out is worse than diving.
To be fair, debate's not your strongest suit.

That's not a debate, it's just an attempt to turn the tables.Ok.
Sterling through on goal and a giant of a keeper lunges at him uncontrollably and either:
A. Takes him out causing a long term, possinly career ending injury
B. Sterling dives out of the way
You decide and then we can close the debate.

However, I'll answer.
He hurdles the keeper and lands on his feet. As I mentioned the other day, I did this all the time in the dinosaur era when I played.
Look at the pictures, Rooney only has to jump about a foot in the air to avoid the keeper, are you trying to suggest he can't get that far off the ground without his legs giving way on landing? I know he's a bit of a chub but still...... , he could have stayed on his feet and he should have.
No, he pushed the ball too far wide and lost the advantage, the keeper gave him a gilt-edged chance to make something of it and he took it.
Btw, Sterling has dived, and so have many other players of all teams. I condemn them all equally as long as they are all treated equally.
