To be honest you've got me completely wrong. I'm one of the RL fans that accept its a minority sport, in fact its actually one of the reasons I like it. I also don't care who gets bigger crowds, the two are simply not comparable. The local media bias doesn't bother/effect me because I don't live locally so I never see it. To me Hull's not a rugby city, its not a football city either as there's no way of quantifying it, its entirely down to opinion. I find the idiots in RL as embarrassing as the idiots in football and find the irony of their mutual dislike quite amusing. As someone that likes both I'm actually the only one out of the two of us that can be impartial and don't let preconceived ideas or unjustified rage dictate my opinion.
Just because a football team does it doesn't mean a minor rugby club does. Football clubs always know the amount of travelling fans anyway. The idea that Huddersfield were directing Hull fans through home turnstiles for marketing purposes is laughable.
The idea that a chairman would change a clubs century old original name to something tacky and crass is laugh able, but a senile old man somewhere in the world is trying his very best to make it happen.
Good post I'm baffled by the hatred football fans have towards rugby and rugby towards soccer. It just makes them look petty narrow minded and drags the sporting city down. Just bloody grow up for gods sake.
