You are a ****ing bellend Tobes, the lino never needed to raise the flag due to Rooney being yards offside and interfering with play and fat boy Dowd was ideally placed to make his own judgement without the lino getting involved.<laugh>

As for the dive, it was blatent and he should have been booked, but you are bitter, twisted and a manc when it matters.
<whistle>

You do realise Tobes said it should have been ruled out for offside right? <laugh>

The keeper should still have dived though. Had Rooney touched it then the flag would have gone up. Of course, its easy to say that in hindsight or even at the time but the keeper only had a split second to react.

I can't blame refs not giving offsides. That is the lino's job and he should maybe consult with dowd on it. How many times have we seen full backs playing strikes on side (i.e. for a main ref they aren't going to be seeing this).

Rooney though is a disgusting diver, not the first time either. Just like Gerrard he's got away with it. Tobes stop trying to defend Rooneys stupid dive. He even left his left behind to try to initiate some contact but didn't get it. If he didn't go down he'd be called naive? Thats the sort of punditry his commentator friends would come out with (Gary Neville intimated this once, but to be fair he has said the same for whoever has done it) whereas everyone would have crucified Pires/Drogba/Suarez. Thats the UK broadcasting standard though, 1 rule for our England stars and 1 rule for johnny Foreigner.

He howling like a puppy outside the door because most of us disagree with Dowd and he's lashing the usual insults around, what's good for the goose and all that.<laugh>

Its when they say "He was entitled to go down there" is what riles me. <grr>

We had this discussion the other day - is the 'win at any cost' philosophy coming down from the manager or are individuals taking it in their own hands? Do fans care about cheating as long as the team wins?

I sort of sometimes agree, if someone makes enough contact (where maybe they could stay up but don't). However, to often its a little hand, or a brush of the feet or in Rooneys case no contact whatsoever thats does my head in. Sterling has been picking this bad habit up (not to mention every other team Young, Cesc, Wilshit). Sterling's one is one that annoys me, he's so strong when he wants to be but a little shoulder to shoulder in a dangerous area and he's down like a sack of spuds.

I have said many times.
going down shouldn't be a decision YOU make, you go down because you are knocked down or tripped by another player.....regardless of what contact there was, if you CAN stay on your feet but decide to go down.....its a dive.

I think the main thing in Rooney's head is boosting his goal stats so he can demand more money when he's the record holder

When is his new contract talks anyway, its been a whole 2 months since his last pay rise....surely he is due another soon?

Yep, that annoys me too. He did have the right to go down if he wants to be seen as a cheat and risk being booked but in any other form, how did he have the right...?

Unquestionably this^

In my opinion Rooney did dive but was a wreckless challenge by the keeper. I think English players do get away with diving to some extent as not a lot is made of them. Like Gerrard in Istanbul more I have watched replays I dont think he was touched but kind of washed over as an English team with English captain wins the Champions League. Also Owen in World Cup 98? against Argentina one where Beckham scored penalty he blatantly dives for it but never heard any media outlet pick up on it at the time mainly because we beat the Argies.

Go back and read it again you ****ing cabbage.

As I said he dived and the offside was offside

You're that eager to vent your bitter spleen that you patently haven't digested the actual ****ing words used <laugh>

Stop attention seeking Tobes, you're sooooooo bitter mate.<laugh>

You swan around our board looking for rows most of the time and fair enough but you have a tendency to use insults when you don't get your own way, opinions are like arseholes mate and we've all got one.
I couldn't give a flying one if you disagree with me but ffs stop with the daft name calling.<ok>

Am I reading this right, or are you two arguing over something you agree on?
