It only counts if you stand near Joe Hart when the ball is smashed in from 30 yards

"I think they are complaining because Rooney was in the path of the goalkeeper but if he did not touch it, it does not matter. Louis van Gaal has got the reaction he needed. I have sympathy with the Preston keeper, but the rules are, if you do not touch the ball it is OK. For me, he is interfering though."


if your infront of the keeper then you must be interfering!
remember the Newcastle v man city game a couple of years back when Tiote banged a 25 yarder in but it was chalked off because someone was standing NEAR Joe Hart?

Right, so even an ex pro doesn't realise that there is a thing called interfering with play?

The keeper can't dive for the ball too early as he has t anticipate a touch from Rooney, Rooney then pulls out leaving it too late for the keeper to dive. Only way it could be more interfering with play is if he let it go through his legs

Ok then, next time your team gets a free kick 20 yards out just stick 2/3 men on the keeper - make sure you don't touch it and it's fine
