News International don't even have the decency to hold up their hands and admit what they have done.It amazes me that people are still saying don't prejudge them.The MP's were hanged,drawn and quartered at this stage in the proceedings and their crimes were nothing compared to Murdoch's,the ginger bird or the pox doctor's clerk who (briefly) told lies for Dave.

A young girl was abducted and murdered, Murdoch's organisation sanctioned and carried out phone hacking on her phone, and, removed messages, leading her parents to believe she must therefore still be alive. To what degree of newsworthyness would you suggest could possiblty come out of that? Have you considered Milly Dowlers or her parents access to freedom? It was violated by the News of the World!!!
What happened, (and the full horrors of the whole story are yet to be revealed), disgust's me, as it should you! This isn't about me disagreeing with you, it's about you defending the organisation that sanctioned this vile action. I find that aborent.

Dave, I don't want him to apologise to me, because I don't believe for one minute that he means it, and I certainly won't apologise for anything I've said.
He seems to think it's a situation he can make fun of and defend, and, I can't see any reason for him doing that.
So it seems that we can't find a solution, so I'll stick to the snakepit in future.

I haven't really seen anything that defends the actions of the the NOTW in this thread...? I don't think anyone will agree with what they have done, it's not right that they have abused peoples privacy. I'm still unsure of how they manage to do it, did they hack in remotely? Surely they must have had some 'assistance' from mobile phone companies or something along the way? Just can't understand how they can manage to get into their phones or even know their phone numbers.
ILD - I don't think you should leave this forum, JWM doesn't throw apologies around to be fair.
I don t find it offensive, i will not get SKY TV but will buy the Sun on a Monday for the footy because its 25p.. How do you find time to be a moderator Thai?.... You must never sleep man.

All I'm saying is that we are so quick to condemn in this country! These were utterly deplorable acts and I do not defend those people including the editor who will be keeping her job. I feel sorry for all those people who will be losing their jobs as a result of the stupid criminal acts committed by a small number of people. I work in the newspaper industry and from a popular cultural aspect, like it or not, the News of the World is an iconic newspaper that stretches back 168 years. I am disgusted that the actions of the few have brought down such a well established part of our collective heritage.
I asked him that question yesterday, roughly speaking he sleeps 1530 - 0100 BST
NFNO - I've been back through JWM's posts and apart from a jocular question about The Times I couldn't find anything wrong either!
I really hope ILD reconsiders withdrawing to the snakepit only, we lost him from the old 606 because of over-zealous moderation, it would be ironic to lose him now because of what he sees as weak moderation. Please don't go ILD, I'll share my malt with you if you stay. That's how strongly I feel!
